While the name "Thrustmaster" may conjure images of CES's sister-convention the Adult Entertainment Expo, the company creates high-tech steering wheels and racing peripherals for gamers who are serious about racing. They make everything from car-game specific controllers to full-on racing chairs.
We stopped by the Thrustmaster booth to check out the latest in their line of steering wheel peripherals for the hardest of the hardcore racing titles. Both of the models on display were enough to please the avid racer, but the fully braceable, TV-mounted wheel with a feedback-enabled chair, brake controls, gearshifts, pedals and buttons on the wheel itself was nothing if not a lesson in humility for us…as we quickly ran our vehicle right off the road. While this set-up would only ever appeal to the insanely dedicated fan, the wheel was responsive, the chair comfortable and the experience fairly immersive.
The smaller, more manageable model was less visually impressive purely from a man-cave perspective, but worked just as efficiently.

I wonder how much a rig like that would cost; hundreds or thousands?

I need to figure out how to break my DF GT and convince my wife that we need this wheel.
