Mass Effect 2's Cerberus Network will shut down on the game's one year anniversary January 24th and will only reactivate for three weeks during 2011. The network will go back online for the release of the final DLC pack set to be released before Mass Effect 3. The Cerberus Network allows you to access downloadable content and daily updates.
Since the game's release the Cerberus Network updated daily, recounting events taking place across the Mass Effect universe. That will end when the network takes its hiatus for the majority of 2011. DLC will still be accessible. There will only be three weeks in 2011 where the network will be active. According to a screen on the Cerberus Network, "A week of posts will precede a downloadable content release, and two more weeks will lead up to the release of Mass Effect 3."
The final pieces of ME2 DLC, including The Lair of the Shadow Broker, will bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. It looks as though we'll get one more piece of ME DLC sometime between now and Mass Effect 3's release during holiday 2011.
Since Lair of the Shadow Broker reunited you with your old squad-mate and possible old flame Liara, I'm hoping the next DLC will give you the same type of reunion with either Kaidan or Ashley. In my save I let Ashley die because Kaidan and I had a love so strong no LOKI Mech could break it. What do you hope happens in the final DLC?
