A listing on GameStop's site for something called "Gears of War Ultimate" appeared yesterday, without fanfare or elaboration. It will cost you $29.99 and will be out on Feb. 15, 2011. There were no other details on what the bundle will contain, although Epic confirmed to IGN that this does not involve Gears of War 3 or the Gears of War 3 beta --just as you'd expect, given the low, low price.
Gears 3 is expected to hit in the Fall of 2011, so, if I had to guess what the Ultimate box is, I'd speculate that it's a re-packaging of the first two Gears games to give uninitiated players a look into the Gears universe well in advance of the release of the third game in the Gears series.
