Cheats and Walkthroughs
While I don't fully accept that playing video games can alter people's behavior, the case of a Clemson, Soutch Carolina man's accident may be enough to change my mind.
According to police, the 23 year-old man was standing on a street corner with some friends, discussing old school arcade game Frogger. He reportedly yelled "Go!" and took off across a busy highway. He was immediately struck by a 2010 Lexus SUV.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The SUV driver will not be charged.
While an early addiction to Tetris helped me learn to pack luggage better, and playing Duke Nukem had me briefly convinced a flat-top haircut was a good idea, I'm generally not influenced by video games, but I can't help but admire the guy who got hit by a car playing real-life Frogger. I hope he recovers quickly, and leaves the hospital a wiser young man. Perhaps he'll re-enact Qbert next, and hop from block to block while avoiding a snake? Maybe he'll do Burger Time and stamp on a bunch of hamburgers. Really, anything that doesn't involve playing in traffic is a better choice.
