War is a serious situation often trivialized in the video games we play. The most successful video game franchises deal with war, Call of Duty, Halo, Medal of Honor, just to name a few. More often than not it's the real wars we deal with that shape our video games but in this bizarre instance an actual war has shaped a video game console. This Game Boy was blown up in a bombing during the Gulf War. The fact that it retained its shape despite clearly being squished and melted isn't even the impressive part. The impressive part is that it still works. Tetris anyone?
Tetris might not be my first choice either but it looks as though the game's cartridge has fused with the console. The Game Boy was damaged back in the early 1990s. These days owning a two-decade old console that still works is something to brag about, let alone one that survived being blown up.
