The Mass Effect 2 demo on the PS3 is available to download on the PlayStation Network and according to BioWare, the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 will be using the Mass Effect 3 engine to provide a smoother gameplay experience. Is that true? How does the PlayStation 3 version compare to the Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect 2? We put this question to the test to find out the differences and similarities between the demo on both consoles. My thoughts while I was playing both versions in the comparison video: the PS3 version felt smoother when running through the levels and interacting with different objects. I don't see any major graphical improvements on the PS3 other than slight lighting adjustments. I'm glad PlayStation gamers have a chance to experience a great action RPG game, but hopefully the Mass Effect 3 engine will show it's true potential when Mass Effect 3 comes out later next year.

and yet alas... my ps3 falls to yet another crappy port. If the developers wont use the machine to its full potential, then dont bother making it, i can buy ps2 fame wayyy cheaper now.

ya the only difference i was able to spot was the shadows... but i really wouldn't be able to tell the difference while playing... and i'm kindof confused as to why ashley is replaced with the liara... but i hope its just a decision in the 1st game... and yes id also like to join the crowd with asking to stop doing the comparison vids... most of the time they're incredibly similar.
so please refrain from making these unless theres a huge difference... as a ps3 fanboy, i'd like to reach across the aisle to 360 fanboys to stop this...

Im just glad its not a shoddy port like most multiplatform games on the PS3. Red dead Redemption looked horrid on the ps3, and so did dead rising 2.

GT likes to do this comparison nonsense and rather than be intelligent and realize differences in HD quality are negligible at best between the two consoles, some fan boys use these vids to troll and antogonize others.

I think the 360 version looks slightly better in a few small scenes showing faces. I am a Playstation owner, always have been always will be but this is just what I see. However, I dont think its fair to compare a game that was designed to be on the xbox. All these comparisons prove nothing, you either like the 360 or you like the PS3. These days with the prices coming down why not both?

I just got ME2 for Christmas. I already rented and beaten it through GameFly, but now I'm really glad I own it. It was only $20! For the game of the year, that's one helluva deal!

They look the same but the PS3 version do look lighter than 360 but still the mostly look the same. Still really good game no matter what platform you have it on.

The PS3 is better, which is a surprise, usually developers work harder on the 360 version (bias?). Either way these PS3 vs 360 comparison videos are stupid. Add a maxed out PC version comparison with these 2 and it will blow them both out of the water.

Im just glad to see the ps3 owners being able to play this game. I played 1 & 2 and they are going to love it. I just might buy this game again for my ps3 to show support, but the comparison doesn't matter it still looked great on my xbox and im just glad ps3 fans will have this....but i wish they could release the 1st one on ps3 also cuz being able to play your save file from the first game to the second is just awesome.
