Blair Butler does triple duty at G4, serving as a writer on Attack of the Show!, being a comic book correspondent (and cover model) for Fresh Ink, and talking about all things MMA. Writing, reading, and ass-kicking. She's real Renaissance woman.
I have to confess that this year I’ve been absolutely slammed writing for Attack of the Show and doing the Fresh Ink and MMA Chokehold – so my free time has dwindled to almost nothing. I still have Fable 3, Dead Rising 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and fraking Assassin’s Creed 2 (yes, I’m not even talking about Brotherhood) shrink-wrapped near my console – and totally unplayed. It’s getting embarrassing. I must also confess that I take the Native American approach to gaming – I use every part of the animal. That means I really did try to snag most – if not all -- of the achievements on each of the following titles. And I loved (almost) every minute of it.
Read on for Blair's Top Five!

Let’s be honest. The first Bioshock is one of my favorite games of all time. The sequel – not so much. But that’s why I have to give huge props to the Minerva’s Den DLC – which managed to re-capture some of the emotional and narrative resonance of the original.

Yes, I got 100% completion. Yes, maybe I’ve wasted my life. But the way this story subverts so many of our country’s founding myths -- and casts a jaundiced eye on any romanticized notion of the “Grand Old West” is terribly compelling. Deadwood isn’t on the air anymore – but I’ve still got John Marsten.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare DLC
You play a zombie cowboy who rides a unicorn that farts butterflies and rainbows out its ass. As if I wouldn’t love this.
Sure, the main quest and story aren’t nearly as good as the one in Fallout 3. I still happily poured 60 hours into multiple play-throughs. Nothing like repairing weapons in the desert! Also, Vault 11 gets mad props for going all “Shirley Jackson.”

Best looking game of the year. Also, you get to button mash a dude’s head off. BURLY.
Check back as the entire staff reveals their Top Five Games of 2010. What were yours?

Great list. And for those of you giving LadyBlair a hard time for not having Mass Effect 2 on her list, maybe she hasn't gotten to it yet. Give the lady a break, people. Those comics aren't going to read themselves.
Bethanator5000
Thank you for having a good list.
Aceassn716
Lovely list gotta mention that any game that lets us yank off someones head and use it to find secrets, blind enemies RULES! For the record God of War 3 is only 720p (Like most PS3 games) which is too bad since it really looks washy and static like on my Bravia. Not complaining just saying the truth
HumanGiant13
She's got my 2 favorite games of the year on there Fallout: New Vegas and God of War 3.
Higgil
I could of went without the Fallout: LV. Honestly, that game was nothing but a waste of time. It didn't feel like a game even with all the bugs and crap.
But the farting unicorn..touche.
Adampro123
Great list Blair.
Natedizzy
Good list. RDR is one of the best games ever.
ParagonAlex
Any list is incomplete without ME2.
Xathos
Aw, I hope you get a chance to play all those games you want Blair!
But not a bad list! God of War was pretty nice to look at, and it was fun.
Infinityman
I always love the way she really is rather blunt about something's faults, as well as it's successes.
Great list Blair.
Aliasvs.Editor
nice selection. 4/5 great games. but New Vegas should be substituted with Mass Effect 2 or Heavy Rain

Congrats on RDR Blair! I'm still working my way through Undead Nightmare (awesome). The Sasquatch mission crushed my soul. :(

This is why I always respected Blair Butler.

Don't feel bad about getting 100% in RDR Blair, I did the same for Just Cause 2, which is much larger and has way more things to collect.
