We've known for a few years that Blizzard was working on an MMO that is not World of Warcraft. Now we may know its name. Blizzard's next MMO is apparently called "Titan," at least as a working title.
The name "Titan" was first revealed in a leaked set of internal Blizzard documents that seemed pretty dubious to us at the time they came out -- no confirmation and an unknown source-- but when asked about the "Titan" title in an interview with Destructoid, Blizzard cofounder and executive vice president Frank Pearce said:
"Titan is… the media is not meant to know anything about that. It's our next-gen MMO, and we've only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we want to leverage the fact that we're working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting--getting some of the best talent in the industry on that."
According to the leaked doc, Blizzard plans to release their new MMO at the end of 2013, but I still don't give a lot of credence to the leaked info, and I imagine "Titan" is a codename or a working title, as opposed to a final title.
