All of that can now be yours as we reveal our staff's top five favorite games of the year. Just don't make fun of mine. Those are off-limits.
We'll be running these over the next few days beginning in just a few minutes, so stay tuned. Plus, tell us what your five favorites of the year were, and why.

1.) Disney Epic Mickey - While I haven't gotten through much of it yet, I can already tell the great attention to detail that went in to this game, The art direction, humor, gameplay, and story are all perfect. Now about that camera...
2.) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - I love everything Scott Pilgrim this game included. The first movie tie-in that i've liked, Scott Pilgrim is addicting, old-school fun.
3.) Heavy Rain - Clunky animations and voice acting aside, One of the most captivating games of the year. It made me actually care about characters and got me wrapped up in the story. Heck, at one point I looked away from the game and saw that I had an audience of people around me that got wrapped up in the crime drama as well.
4.) Pokemon HeartGold/ SoulSilver - I stopped playing after I played the original Red/ Blue/ Yellow games to death, but I'm glad I came back for these babies.
5.) Sly Collection - Besides the flood of nostalgia that came over me, these PS2 platformers were excellent to begin with and it's great to see them again.
Honorable Mentions: Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Great games, but they just didn't hook me quite as well as the other 5.
And the award for "Only game that ever made me actually consider getting an Xbox, but now I'm glad I didn't because now it's coming to PS3" is... MASS EFFECT 2!

Any order depending on what mood I'm in.
1) Mass Effect 2 - I loved the first game and was excited for the second. One of the best sequels I've ever played
2) Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - This is probably the multiplayer I played most this year. Now with Vietnam out I'll still be playing this for a while. Very well made game.
3) Alan Wake: This title stood out to me. The narrative had me hooked. Very underrated but a good game nonetheless.
4) Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit - This was the first racing game I played in a while but this is incredible. It was a nice break from all the first person shooters and rpgs.
5) Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - I'm a big fan of the franchise. I wasn't sure what to expect since I thought it was gonna be more like a buffer game between 2 and 3. However, I soon learned this is a huge game by itself and I was happily surprised.
Just on a side note, I haven't played Rock Band 3 yet but I know that's what I'm getting for Christmas and I know it's gonna be awesome. I know Uncharted 2 came out in 2009 but I still play the multiplayer. The community in that game is still going strong. Makes me more excited for Uncharted 3.

I'm a little sad at the lack of Reach love in these lists, only 2 had it :(
Although Halo 1 was the sum of my childhood so I'm probably a little biased.
Anyway my list:
1. Reach: Been a Halo fan since CE, and will remain one till death
2. Brotherhood: Finally a multiplayer game that thought out of the box, and the Assassin's guild is just plain fun.
3. New Vegas: A worthy successor to FO3
4. Bayonetta: This game is just pure fun
5. Star Wars KOTOR: I don't care what year it is, this game will always be in my top 5

Out of the 75 game entries (15 editors x five picks):
Heavy Rain was mentioned once
Mario Galaxy 2, DKC Returns, Epic Mickey, and Kirby Epic Yarn not mentioned once.
hmm, some company hates the Wii. pick atari adventure, some stupid poker game, and mediocre costume quest over all those Wii perfections (well, not Mickey)
zero respect. biased bastards

1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Mass Effect 2
3. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
4. New Vegas
5. Deadly Premonition
It's bizarre that I can't shake the feeling that this year was lame. It has a curious stale stench. Might have something to do with Fable III being a platter of chunky vomit. Might also have something to do with my top 2 coming out early in the year. There were plenty of gems, though. No denying that.
