Updated 12.16.2010, 4:10 PST: Sorry, the video has been pulled by YouTube. According to my old college pal, internet historian Jason Scott, when a new technology is introduced to the public, three kinds of stories are written in "The Media." Here they are, in order:
- "Hey, look at this New Thing!"
- "You can have sex with this New Thing!"
- "The New Thing can hurt you."
The Kinect has just entered phase two. Shady seeming developer ThriXXX Software, maker of 3D SexVilla 2, has developed a Kinect-powered sex simulator by adding support for Microsoft's control system to its line of 3DSex games. You can't play these games on your 360 right now, and you probably won't ever be able to, but if you're using your Kinect on your Windows 7 machine, it should work when it's released in 2011.

I try not to judge people's choices in entertainment, so I'll keep my opinions to my self and ask you guys: What do you think? Is Kinect-sex the wave of the future?

Also, do we always have to end these articles in questions to leave them open to debate and try and spark controversy for the sake of doing it? Or can we just leave it at the facts of the story and let people discuss without being lured into it?

Since none of the Kinect games are worth a d@mn this might give people something to do with it other than collect dust. Yes, it seems funny, but the porn industry is quite large and innovative. I see nothing wrong with this if people want to purchase it. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Quite simple. MS has no right telling people they can't view adult content on their console, or play it either. That would be like Sony saying you can't play Death Metal CD's on their CD player because they dislike the message of it. As long as it is not criminal, then let people be creative. MS can't complain because in The Saboteur you can download a patch for women to be topless and pay them to strip. This kind of game is not far from that. Need we even mention DOAXBV? If we build it, they will come.

I think that while ThriXXX is "officially" only going to have their title on Kinect-enabled computers, I'd bet nearly anything that the modding community will be getting the game onto Xboxes.
And it really wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Anybody remember "Super Noah's Ark 3D"? The game where you had to stick an official SNES cart into it to bypass the lockout of unlicensed games?

Without the full feedback codpiece (nod to yc) it's just not as interesting. Maybe if Microsoft allows peripherals to work with kinect it will be better.
