ESPN On Xbox Live Update Adds College Football Bowl Season Content

College football fans with ESPN3 and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will be pleased to hear that the ESPN channel on Xbox Live has received an update today that introduces the new “College Bowl Showdown” competition.

The new feature lets users offer up their picks for all 32 upcoming bowl games, and earn points based on the accuracy of those predictions. Those points can then be used to win prizes and/or to assert your prescient bowl knowledge dominance over your friends.

The update also adds “play all” functionality, so users can now watch all of the channel's featured highlights in a single video, and a new feature that lets you watch a rolling highlight reel for any sport or league that you follow in the “My Sports” section.

Even though all of the major bowl games are readily available on standard ESPN and basic cable, being able to watch all 32 bowl games through your 360 is pretty great, especially if you’re a connoisseur of the lesser known bowls like the Meineke Car Care Bowl or the Potbellied Pigs Wearing Fedoras Bowl (One of those is made up. Care to guess which one?).

Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.
