Mortal Kombat's next installment will feature the God of War himself. You read right, Kratos will be a playable character in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game. As you may have guessed, he will be a PS3 exclusive.
Ed Boon is looking to revamp the Moral Kombat series after the lack-luster performance of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. One of the major issues with MK vs DC was the glaring omission of gratuitous violence. I think I speak for everyone when I say that Kratos knows a thing or two about over-the-top gore. Kratos will have his own combat moves, fatalities, and even his own arena.
The official announcement will appear in January's Official PlayStation Magazine. It hits shelves later this week. The article confirms his addition to the game but denies that Kratos will be a playable character in story-mode.
This confirmation is great news for Mortal Kombat fans and even better news for PS3 owners. But it doesn't take much guess-work to wonder if an Xbox 360 exclusive character will be announced too. We've seen this before after all, like with Soul Calibur 4. The PS3 version had Darth Vader as a playable character and the Xbox 360 version had Yoda. Epic's Cliff Bleszinski has already gone on twitter to toss Clay Carmine's name in the mix. Which Xbox 360 character do you think should join Mortal Kombat?
Look for Mortal Kombat in Spring 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Kratos in Mortal Kombat might just make me buy it. Hell I bought MK vs DC just b.c. you could be Batman. Although Master Chief as a playable combatant would probably sell me on buying the 360 version :)

Definably General Ramm from Gears of War 1 he just looks like the Mortal Kombat type that and hes just as ugly as Goro was.

Well damn, I hope 360 gets a badass exclusive too. I mean damn, Kratos would be fun to play as in the game. (Although I'll stick with either Scorpion or Ermac). I can't wait to see how he plays.

Might just get Mortal Kombat for the PS3 now, depends who the 360 gets. Only one I can see fitting is a Gears of War character, hopefully Cole.

I think that Marcus could fit in the MK arena as well. Kind of a Goro character. I don't think that Master Chief has the darkness that is required to be in this version of MK.

Yet another reason for me to want a PS3 instead of my xbox. It's basically a given that the xbox will get a character, but it better be someone who deserves it.
