Mortal Kombat's next installment will feature the God of War himself. You read right, Kratos will be a playable character in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game. As you may have guessed, he will be a PS3 exclusive.
Ed Boon is looking to revamp the Moral Kombat series after the lack-luster performance of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. One of the major issues with MK vs DC was the glaring omission of gratuitous violence. I think I speak for everyone when I say that Kratos knows a thing or two about over-the-top gore. Kratos will have his own combat moves, fatalities, and even his own arena.
The official announcement will appear in January's Official PlayStation Magazine. It hits shelves later this week. The article confirms his addition to the game but denies that Kratos will be a playable character in story-mode.
This confirmation is great news for Mortal Kombat fans and even better news for PS3 owners. But it doesn't take much guess-work to wonder if an Xbox 360 exclusive character will be announced too. We've seen this before after all, like with Soul Calibur 4. The PS3 version had Darth Vader as a playable character and the Xbox 360 version had Yoda. Epic's Cliff Bleszinski has already gone on twitter to toss Clay Carmine's name in the mix. Which Xbox 360 character do you think should join Mortal Kombat?
Look for Mortal Kombat in Spring 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

How about Jack from ME 2? She's a badass, crazy and has biotics so she has inherent ranged attacks like many MK characters.

I'm glad Kratos is in I already planed to get this on the PS3 because of the 360's lackluster D-pad but this just solidifies it.

Oh, for the 360 version they should use Peter Molyneux! He could build up hype throughout the entire fight and then crush his opponents with their own hopes and dreams :P

I hate this but a million versions of games to play all the parts I want to play. Exclusives are stupid, especially when you own all the consoles anyway. Just give us a complete game for once this generation !!!

Well.. Master Chief would fit in the sense that he is the Xbox's main man. but the guys from Gears are more in tune with the violence, blood, and gore. The thing is, they're both shooters. I think they would end up like Snake in SSBBrawl, maybe. But there was a spartan in Dead or Alive... something. Was it DoA?
Then people that fit are mostly on both consoles, and maybe on PC. Dante, War, Ezio maybe... Oh could you imagine Commander Shepard?
