Gran Turismo 5 Patch Glitch?

Gran Turismo 5 Gets New Cars, Modes, and ... Karts?!.

Gran Turismo 5's 1.03 patch went live on the PlayStation Network yesterday, adding much-needed vehicular damage to the car simulation game. Good news, right? Maybe not. According to some users, the GT5 patch may be causing damage to save games, damage that requires saves be deleted, and precious car collections erased and destroyed.

I installed the update at home, and had no problems at all, and the reports don't seem that widespread (yet.) But this might be the tip of a very distressing iceberg. We'll keep up on it and let you know if it gets more serious.

Let me turn it over to you guys: Have you had any problems with the Gran Turismo 5 patch?

    Hello
I'm not sure when the patch got installed on my system but it must have been several days or even a week ago. I played every day since release.
Yesterday GT5 became very slow, especially at the end of the race, either during or right before saving.
I rebooted and got a message about there not being enough HD-space and got the option to reboot or delete TD5 files. So I rebooted and deleted a few demo's even though there should have been plenty free HD-space.
After rebooting I still got the same message so I opted for deleting Gran Turismo 5 files this time.
Now, when starting the game, I get the same message as the people above me: Insufficient free space....... 0x0000000b [60]
I love this game but would hate to start all over. Test Drive Unlimited ended in the trashcan for the exact same reason some years ago so I hope someone can confirm it at least is not the save-game that's damaged.
Because of another problem on my PS3 I can't delete and thus re-install the game atm so I don't know if that would help.
Also, in case I solve the other problem, can anyone confirm if deleting the game will not also delete the save-game? (Guessing not but would like to be sure.)

ps. I didn't even know the last patch was for damage, I became lvl 25 yesterday and haven't seen any real damage yet. But tbh, I don't really care about that. I'm just wondering if it has anything to do with the current problem.

I noticed a problem with mine. I bought a car, well... Overgrown Lawnmower (60hp), and tuned it out to 152hp. Well. It saved, I turned it off, and came back an hour later. The money I spent on the car was gone, the parts money was gone, and the money I spent on paint and rim's were gone. I still had the car, the Cosmetic stuff was there, but all of my performance parts were gone. Not a huge problem, it was only 30K in all. Plus the damage patch wasn't really all that... *ahem* good. I'm only a level 10, and from what I've heard, you have to level up to see the bigger damages. Anyone know the validity of this?

YES, PROBLEMS! I installed the update on Tuesday 12/7 and was able to play but I noticed the game was slow to load and auto-save during play. I turned off the system and the game would not reload. Upon restart a screen appears that says "Innsufficient free space on Hard Disk Drive (HDD). At least 32MB required. Please exit the game and free up some space. 0x0000000b [60]". I have a 500G hard drive with 372 of 465G free and have deleted more files. This is an apparent glitch that I hope they fix soon!!! I have had no troubles with any other games.

for a story thats talking about GT5, there sure are a lot of haters in here talking about Forza. how about this... stop being a broke *ss fanboy, and buy both systems. both systems have strengths and weaknesses, and so do their games. so please stop with all the negativity and enjoy whatever system you have. thank goodness have both...

go ahead and waste your time with a game that has no realistic physics engine (forza) why are you complaining anyway? from what i have played the game is pretty good to me. whats wrong with adding stuff after the games release, i mean i have only seen a few glitches that aren't game breaking until this save glitch, which does suck but it could of just been bad luck.

No problems here. And I love the game so I'm willing to put up with these kinds of issues.

Remember when games came on cartridges and didn't require patches?

Hey Wii users - does Nintendo ever send patches for games? Just curious, I don't remember any while i had one.

Didn't Gran Turismo have a problem with saving files on one of their old games? All well...they'll get it fixed soon.

this game should have been perfect after 6 damn years of development but no the have to put out a patch as soon as the damn game come out its like they where smoking pot for 5 years and worked on the game for one year forza motorsport 3 is still the better game I took my GT5 back 2 days after I got it its just a shame

One has to appreciate the humour in this: six years in development and a patch to enable the same kind of mechanical damage that came with the original Forza back in 2005, and it gets botched.

Hmmm, I just installed and played a bit right now and all is good. Is it instant as in it corrupts from downloading the patch or can it happen at any time while playing? If its the latter I may just take a break from GT5...
