Electronic Arts is giving action-horror lovers a little holiday treat in a couple weeks in the form of a demo for Visceral Games’ upcoming sequel Dead Space 2. The bloody aperitif will land on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on December 21.
The demo lets player battle their way through the gothic and, obviously, Necromorph infested Church of Unitology with the help of some of Isaac Clarke’s newest weapons including the Javelin gun, and improved versions of Isaac’s stasis and telekinesis mechanics. There will also be a section in which players will be able to try out the new jet propelled Zero-G feature.
"The holidays are a great time to enjoy all forms of entertainment, and we can't wait to give horror and action adventure gamers a taste of what awaits them in Dead Space 2," said Dead Space executive producer Steve Papoutsis. "Releasing the demo five weeks before launch will not only re-connect players with our hero Isaac Clarke, but will also give them the opportunity to experience firsthand various jaw-dropping scenarios. It's gonna be awesome.”
Visceral demoed the Unitology section at this year’s E3, so if you want a refresher on what awaits you in the demo, here are two videos that should help:
