A Tomb Raider reboot is coming, people. This morning, Game Informer magazine posted scans of its next cover featuring a bedraggled looking Lara Croft, as well as the promise of tons of details on the game in its January issue. Click the "Read More" tag for a look at the whole cover.
Details, at present, are scant. We know the game will be called Tomb Raider and feature a younger, inexperienced Lara Croft who must "endure both physical and emotional trauma to survive."
We'll let you know more about the new Lara when the details are revealed, but until then, feel free to speculate, or just take a moment to revel in how amazing the new Lara Croft looks. Personally, I'm totally onboard and can't wait until this game is released, based on the image and history of the series alone!

I personally suspect this is a digital photo of a cute / sexy female, from some place on planet Earth.

To me it looks like they are hinting that Tomb Raider will be Uncharted with a female lead. And thus the circle is complete: the snake eats it's tail. Long live the Ouroborus!

Whoever that model is -- well she looks real, but if actually computer graphics, then wow, but -- she doesn't look like a "younger" Lara at all. lol As for "reboot," that's such a silly marketing term. It seems to mean just another out-of-sequence story, rather than a whole game reinvention. But at any rate, it will still be a cool game. (And I absolutely LOVED Underworld, even with the minor (at least to me) camera issues.)

I don't like it. It's like saying, "Here's a look at the rebooted Mario. He's younger, slim, and is just an apprentice in the plumbing industry." What's with all the reboots (especially in movies)? Has creativity really run dry? Just let a franchise die a peaceful death and try something new! It would take a whole lot for this game to even compete with Uncharted 3.

Wonder if this is set just after the plane crash depicted in Legend and Underworld. Underworld was a fun game, but the game killing glitches and horrible camera dragged it down considerably.

I love the " Lara Croft " series, and especially this new look. I just hope they don't make the puzzles so hard to figure out this time, and that they also make it so I can use my "PS3 Move Controllers".

Let's hope its first person this time around like Mirror's Edge. Of course, all the pervs won't be able to look at her as she does back breaking gymnastics in tight clothes. Maybe the game can include lots of reflective surfaces to suffice!
