A new Bravia TV has been released in Europe that contains a built in PlayStation 2.
The KDL-22PX300 is a 720p TV with a 22" screen, four HDMI ports and 3 USB ports; so it's a decent, value-conscious set, but the PS2 puts it over the edge, because that means the television has a built in DVD player, game system and CD player. Pretty brilliant, no?
It's 199 Euros, and there's no word yet whether the TV is scheduled to come out in the States. If it did, I'd buy one as a second set, for my bedroom or my soon-to-be-built mancave.
What do you guys think?

I think it's great. It removes a console from under the TV and inputs the video signal directly. Plus it's an awesome console. I'd get it.

I could see using this TV set up as a replacement computer monitor/PS2. Be nice to have in your office at home if you just wanted an extra place to have both a TV/DVD/Gaming console. Now if Sony would release a 3D LED TV with a built in PS3 & integrated Playstation Eye in larger screen sizes like 32, 42, 52 inch I would totally buy one of those to keep in my living room entertainment center!

they ought to make a large 1080p 3D tv with a playstation3 inside.

Meh, if you want a PS2 you can buy one for like $30 on ebay. And that way you can get the TV you really want and use the PS2 anywhere you want.

This is great for the international markets, but they'd have to throw in a PS3 instead if they want this to sell in the U.S. and UK.

See now that is a good idea. Now only if they could do that with a PS3...

Reminds me of the old PSX STBs that had in Japan a while back.

I like to look at this as a PS2 containing a Bravia TV. :)

had to get rid of them somehow

Actually, at first when I read the title I thought this was a stupid idea. However, seeing as how the TV is a smaller size, I think it is actually pretty cool. It can be something you can just throw anywhere. It is not a TV that is meant to replace the one you already have in your living room, which was a smart move by Sony.

Also, forgot to mention, it is the 10th anninversary of the PS2, so that could also have something to do with this being made.

Maybe they could end up doing this with the PS3 one day. Either way, not that bad of an idea. Seeing as how there are people out there who wish they could play their old PS2 games, but might not have a PS2 anymore, and seeing as how the PS3 lacks backwards compatability, this could be a great alternative than having to see if their favorite games of last gen have any plans of getting a HD re-make, or having to go out, and buy the HD re-makes of the same game they played last gen (not that I'm against HD re-makes).

I probably wont buy a 720p TV, I dont see the need for it. The price gap between 1080 and 720 is getting to be minimal. I just dont understand the reason for this TV, and the size makes it basically a low res monitor.

uhmm... Why only 720p and why would you buy a ps2 again most people who want one already have one. I'm perfectly happy with my regular 1080p tv and ps3.

This is one of the best ideas EVER!! Screw sliced bread! lol

Awesome but why 720p and only 22inch does it come bigger?
