A new version of gorehound classic Splatterhouse is on store shelves right now, and the horror-core title has completely abandoned good taste in favor of gallons of blood and goo. But is it good? Our reviewer Jason D'Aprile waded through the various body parts to bring back word on how Splatterhouse stacks up as a game.
"At its best, Splatterhouse is a fun guilty pleasure for horror fans, at its worst, it doesn’t work and can be offensive to some. The game feels too cheaply done at times, and there’s no doubt that issues with the controls, camera, and animation really drag it down. Yet, for a cheese-filled, violent action fix, there’s definitely something to be said for the unapologetically trashy, overdone gameplay."

why is it with most of the reviews im reading here, if G4 thinks its bad,

Great game? No. Good game? Debatable. Mediocre game? Sure. It's an ehhh game not worth $60 but maybe worth the $20 it'll be in a year and a half. Repetitive, glitchy killing with lots of blood. There's really no substance to this game unless you like mindlessly killing lots of the same things and having blood everywhere. Now that I think of it, I'd wait to get it off ebay in 2 years for $5. Maybe.

This game is great and I feel like the combat is better than that of famed Batman: arkham asylum. people who read this review, do not knock this game until you have at least rented it! please!!!! it is suck an awesome game, nothing about this game is cheap!

Give me a break. This game has been getting killed on almost every gaming site there is. Mabye you like it but if 9 out of 10 reviewers say a game sucks I'm going to believe the professionals.

This is my favorite game out ever. The reviewer has no clue on what they are saying. If you are a hardcore gore gamer like me, you are gonna love it.

The blurb reminds me of playing Rockstars "State of Emergency" back in the day. Lame lame game overall, but a guilty Rampage type pleasure of kicking ass.
