World Of Warcraft Releases Moonkin Hatchling And Lil' Ragnaros

Posted December 1, 2010 - By Leah Jackson

Blizzard released two brand new vanity pets for $10 in their Blizzard Store this week for World of Warcraft players: the adorable Moonkin Hatchling and the dreaded Lil' Ragnaros (he's also pretty cute). They've done this sort of sale before, with Lil' K.T. and the Pandaren Monk. This time they decided once again to donate some of the proceeds from one of their pets to charity. Half of the proceeds from all of the Moonkin Hatchlings bought between now and December 31, 2010 are going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last year when Blizzard had a similar sale, they were able to raise $1.1 million dollars towards Make-A-Wish.

Both pets have some really cool features. The Moonkin Hatchling, which comes in both Alliance and Horde versions, will actually do the hilarious Moonkin dance when you /dance with it. It also plants a flower at your feet every once in a while to show how much it loves you. Lil' Ragnaros acts as a cooking fire, so make sure to keep your Plump Turkeys away from it! It also submerges into magma whenever you start to move and comes back up once you stop moving, something no other pet in WoW does.

Keep in mind that these are vanity pets and don't offer any sort of buff to your characters. They're there purely for enjoyment, and I for one can say I've gotten plenty of laughs out of dancing with my Moonkin Hatchling over the last few days.
