Disney Epic Mickey Gets Tarred and Feathered or Inked and Painted on This Episode of Feedback

Disney Epic Mickey paints and thins his way onto this episode of Feedback, so watch and find out if he melted our hearts, or painted them over with a thin veneer of yellow dye #5. One thing is for certain: we really wish that Mickey had the legs to jump onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well, because this story needs to branch out beyond just the Wii. We also have a couple of issues with the game, so find out what they are inside.

It's also nearly one week since American gorged itself on turkey and sugar-based foodstuffs. By now, all of that tryptophan should have worked its way out of your system, and any residual sleepiness you've been feeling needs you need a dose of something stronger. Normally we'd suggest a quick smack in the face, but we just happen to have a fresh prescription of Feedback for you, all ready to watch.

Tune in, tune out, and put your world on pause for awhile.

Feedback -- Does Disney Epic Mickey Bring Epic Fun? »

Here's your handy, freshly inked guide to what we talked about:

  • Marky Mark is playing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie. Can we start boycott plans now, please?
  • Double Fine's newest game Stacking has you playing a Russian nesting doll named Charlie.
  • Nintendo is sort of coming back to CES after a 16 year absence. They're taking meetings, but not boothing up the 3DS.
  • Ubisoft loves all of you who purchased Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood so much that they're giving you free multiplayer DLC.
  • Bungie proves that they have more Halo: Reach in their pockets by releasing the Noble Map Pack for 800 points.
  • Kevin Kelly (hey, that's me!) went to Board Game Geek Con in Dallas last week, geeking out on cardboard and wooden bits.
  • And of course, there's lots and lots of Disney Epic Mickey talk. I hope this becomes a franchise as well, because how awesome would Disney Epic Donald and Disney Epic Goofy be?

Feedback: Where no matter how much thinner we use, we just can't get Stephen Johnson to disappear.

My understanding/impression of some of the design choices with Epic Mickey were, first with the Wii exclusivity that the control scheme of the Wiimote was meant to emulate the feel of having a paint brush, though I guess they never got the memo on the Move, and for the lack of voice overs that many of the characters were from silent era strips and that people had an idea in their head about what the character would sound like so they couldn't break that perception by giving them a voice.

Alright, I'm convinced that I must try Epic Mickey, if that was your mission you succeeded.

Something that bothered me though was what was said about DKCR only being for fans of the original DKC games, and I don't really get that, since the level of nostalgia I did get while playing was very low. After hearing each music track once that was it. The levels look and feel very different, and it controls very differently from the original. DKCR is not in any way the same as the original Donkey Kong Country. Its a great game worthy of the title, but not because its like DKC, but because of incredible platforming level design.

    Great feedback!!!

It was really nice to not have Abbie constantly talking over everyone, and interupting them all the time to prove she knows more than anyone else. All we need to do now is replace Nikole with Steve Johnson, JP, Casey, or just make it the three members of today's panel. Epic Mickey is awesome!!!

Both my PC and my husband's PC are not able to handle the newer PC games but we don't have the money to upgrade both of our PCs and really the fighting over who gets what first, well that could end our marriage. The OnLive thing might be good solution until we can afford to get both our systems up to snuff again. I'm sure I'm not the only person who needs time to get a better PC to play the games I want.

Bradley Cooper seems like he has the swagger that can pull off Drake. Jeremy Piven would also be great.
I also think Kevin Periera would be interesting...

The Wii and the 360 use the same DVD medium. Storage capacity would be exactly the same. Multi-platform would not add any more content to the game.

Great epsiode of Feedback. I totally agree with Adam about Epic Mickey, it is a crime it's only on the Wii. Because this really seems like it could've been a must buy game for the PS3 with Playstation Move, plus with HD graphics, it'd give this game am even more amazing look. As far as On Live, it seems interesting. I've seen a commercial for it, not really sure I'd want to get it.

I think the guy from Burn Notice, Jeffrey Donovan, could pull off Nathan Drake. His voice is a little monotone sure, but in interviews on Kimmel he's proven that he can loosen up and joke around in a manner similar to Drake.
