Eidos Montreal today revealed a slew of new details (and a pair of trailers) for its thoroughly promising sci-fi RPG Deus Ex: Human Revolution including information regarding the game's special edition and the two pre-order bonus packs being offered by select retailers.
The Human Revolution Augmentation Edition retails for $69.99, and includes:
- 40-page Artbook
- A bonus DVD featuring a "Making of" video, trailers, animated storyboards of the CGI trailer, and the game's soundtrack
- Premium Packaging
- Motion Graphic Novel

The Explosive Mission Pack will be available to those who pre-order the game at GameStop, and will include:
- An exclusive mission featuring a "special cameo" by an original Deus Ex character
- Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher
- M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED)
- Automatic Unlocking Device
Here’s what these items look like in action:
The Tactical Enhancement Pack will be available at select retailers, and will include
- Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun
- Longsword Whisperhead Extreme Range Sniper Rifle
- Bonus credits to purchase augmentations and upgrades.
I love the sound of the sniper rifle, and the shotgun just looks devastating. Check them out:

I have mixed feelings about pre-order bonuses. It's BS, but I like getting something extra if I pre-order, even though they could easily put it in the game or come out with DLC mission later on that include it. The main reason for them doing this, is because:
A: It's a way to trick you into buying the game new instead of used (since the developer doesn't make money off of used game sales).
B: In the case of having different types of pre-order bonuses at different retailers, like what Fallout: NV (think this one had like 5 different ones, I forget), Mafia 2, or Fable 3 had, it's to get you to buy the game from "them" instead of someone else. Though that is subjective though, because it depends what appeals to you. Basically, since Gamestop does pre-order bonuses, everyone else started to jump on the bandwagon, so I mean, naturally, they won't offer the same exact stuff.

Dang its not much for a CE but still thats not bad for $10 more so I may get it

I'll pass on the CE, but i will not pass on either on explosive mission and the tactical enhancement.

uuurgh... this game looks cool but I've lost all faith in Square Enix after the Final Fantasy debacles.

This is just getting ridiculous now with special editions including or not including certain items for gameplay. Why not just include it all into the game? Well I know the answer to that but seriously, getting annoyed with all of this Special edition this or Legendary edition that that you must decide what items you want, even if you want them all... That's an idea, sell them all in another pack that will cost more money! YAY for greed.
