Gran Turismo 5 or Need For Speed Hot Pursuit? Which one will you buy? GT5 puts players in the driver seats of over 1,000 cars, from standard models to supercars, and in Hot Pursuit, players drive the world's most high performance cars at incredible speeds.
We know both games are different. GT5 plays like a driving simulator, and Hot Pursuit is a more arcade-y take on the genre, however, gamers might need a little help to choose which game wins the race. Check out the comparison video below that shows the graphics, gameplay, and authenticity of both racing games. Which racing title are you going to pick up?

The only problem that I have ever had with GT5 was just that I want it to cut to the chase faster. Something just feels too slow about it. With the new Need For Speed, I am a huge fan of the originals, so I was hoping for a few ramps that would give you some air, and catch it with the cinema-cam style camera angle to it.No go in this one. Everything else felt fast and solid.Take your pic. Get off of the real road, play some burnout:revenge era stuff and go to bed, or Wake up, play some GT5, and get ready to go to work.

I say NFS, it looks a lot more fun and the race tracks/world looks a lot more detailed and interesting. Then again I'm not into racing sims.

I really really wanted to like GT5 (just so i have something new to play on the PS3). Got it in the mail from Gamefly on Friday and was bored with it by Saturday and sent it back on Monday. Was not impressed, but to be fair i am not a 'simulation' fan.
And by the way, those of you who claim GT5 is real - the last time i looked i did not use a controller thumbstick to steer or buttons to accelerate/brake.

I like Need for speed, but it doesn't teach me how to drive on a racetrack. I liked NFS better in the old days, when the cars used to drive more realistically.

I understand what the point this article was trying to get across, but as for the video I have no comment. Personally, my preference leans more toward simulation, so I'll just leave it at that.

This comparison makes no sense. Why not compare SSFIV to UFC. Can we at least see the same cars on similar tracks. This is the type of ish that makes me lose respect for G4. This is just sloppy! I play games like NFS:HP when I want a fun racing game. I play GT5 because I'm an insane petrol-head, and it's fun to basically test drive amazing cars on the best tracks. The real comparison would be the controls, and handling, but there is no way to show that. Maybe G4 could let some kids play both games, and show the footage.

i own both of them there both fun but nfs is more fun for like only the first week i had it and gtf is fun for like weeks, and weeks, and more weeks and there will probebly be more dlc's for gt5 anyways soooo and also gt5 looks way better g4 just likes to start flame wars and feed the trolls

this post is a stinker. Boo to G4 for compairing two games that couldn't be more different, granted they both have wheels in them. I'm hitting the nitrous to forget this post.

Maybe G4 can compare an Xbox or PS3 with an Atari next. These games are completely different and the smartest comparison would be Forza 3 and GT5.

Why wouldnt you pick the most bland track with no other drivers with a boaring car and compare it to an arcade game like burnout.

Rome with Murcialago and a full grid would be a more fair comparison. Heck even the go karts wouldve been better than youre terrible time trial rally decision... are you guys hiring because you need some help.
The only ones who I havent seen bias from are Sessler and Johnson everyone else is too young I think.

It's difficult to compare these games when they are two totally different racing games. NFS and GT5, like GT5 and Forza, are two really good driving/racing games but are still different. If two racing games offered the same content then they would be easier to compare.
