The Thanksgiving 2010 holiday break is over, and chances are you are still recovering from the past few days of eating, drinking, dealing with your families, and, if you were lucky, gloriously uninterrupted stretches of quality gaming. Hopefully, a number of you had something funny, embarrassing, inappropriate, or all of the above happen to you over the break (Black Friday definitely included) because that’s exactly what we want to hear about this morning.
So come on. Best Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday stories. Go!

Bookshelf, for one, the reason we didn't have an opening at midnight on Tuesday night at Gamestop is because we didn't know the set in stone release date until the week before. It's a bit difficult to set something up based upon a game that has switched the release date over and over again. I don't see what difference 9 hours is anyway, is there no other game you could play until then? I got GT5 and I waited an extra 9 hours..

I went to Walmart around 3:30, not realizing the game deals had started at midnight. Initially heading toward the electronics section, I was redirected to the produce section because apparently that's where they were keeping games that morning. Obviously, there were no games of interest left. I went back to the electronics section and found a copy of Infamous which was listed at $10 in the ad. After 30 minutes of waiting for a manager and being told that I'd have to pay MSRP since the game wasn't in the deals section, they gave in. When they scanned it, it came up as $10 anyway.
Simultaneous rage and relief.
Also, I got Bioshock 2 (360), Darksiders (PS3) and Bayonetta (360) at Gamestop's 3-for-2 used deal. GoW Collection and R&CF:ToD on Amazon later that morning. They just came in today. :D

No offense to Asian or people of oriental descent...
Well i was at Best Buy and i was getting a great Sony VAIO laptop package deal, along with a 2TB portable hard drive, an iPod Touch 4th Gen, a couple PS3 and 360 games, and a home theater set. While i'm in line with all my stuff and a ticket for the laptop deal and portable hard drive, this Asian lady charges up to the counter right as i was about to walk up and starts swearing out the cashier. After about 3 minutes of hilarious banter from the lady, she finally started speaking regularly and apparently she had the wrong ticket for the item she wanted. She was wrong, yet she was cussing out the cashier. Finally the cashier brought the manager out and he asked her if there was anything else she needed, she glared at him for about 2 minutes in total silence then stormed out the store speaking her native tongue...i think it was Korean but i'm not entirely sure.
But yea, that was hilarious. Oh and some family drove off with their Wii on the side of their car. I can only imagine the kids face when he got home...

I go to evil Walmart @ Midnight Thanksgiving night. The GOW Collection was $10. I can't find a copy of it. I'm searching for 20 minutes. I'm bummed cause there's no more left. This d-bag walks up and is looking for it as well. I'm still searching underneath the display where the overstock is. He walks up to the display where the 360 stuff is and looks in the overstock underneath and finds a copy of the GOW Collection and snatches it out from under me. I was right next to him I was going to check there next. I wanted to tackle him down to the ground and take it. I wanted to scream! I left empty handed and annoyed.
Happy ending though, the next morning on Amazon the GOW Collection was a lightning deal for $10. Ha! I got it for the same price anyway.

I was originally going to go for the Assassin's creed brotherhood for $40 at K-mart but didn't realize it was thanksgiving day only( kinda what happened with "Bryan108"). So when I went to target on friday, I got need for speed hot pursuit instead for $35. Pretty happy with it so far.

I did exactly zero waiting on Friday. On Thursday night I drove over to my local shopping center to see if anyone was camping out and low and behold there were around a dozen people camping at each of the big box stores (Walmart, Best Buy, Target). This was around 10pm. Everyone appeared miserable sitting on the cold ground in the 30 degree weather. I figured the next morning it would be a disaster trying to plow through all the people that would inevitably join the line over night. Fast forward 12 hours later (I over slept, originally planned on arriving at 5am for the opening) and Best Buy was about as full as it would be any weekend. I didn't even have any problems finding a parking space. In the end I got all the DVDs I wanted that were on sale and a new printer without having to freeze my ass off or fight a crowed of belligerent, tools. I think that in the end I made out better than the @$$ hats that spent their Thanksgiving nights in the freezing cold so they could get that $500 flat screen which they could just buy today online.

Finally gave in and got a DS at Wal-Mart. It was $89 new during their Black-Friday sales. Tried it out, and I have to say, I like it.

I went to KMART After I HEARD and READ online with several RELIABLE sources that Assassins Creed Brotherhood would be on SALE FOR 39.99. SO THERE I WENT AND IT WASN'T ON SALE IT WAS FULL PRICE. But I got it anyway.

I work at Best Buy and Black Friday was insane! And so because of that, I didn't get in on the good deals.

well lets see... I picked up GT5 at midnight at Walmart on the 24th. Played it all night. Got up the next day and went to Gamestop to cancel my pre-order and got my money back since they were not open at midnight. Went back home, played GT5, and played some more GT5. It's pretty much been GT5 since i got it. That's my awesome story.
Gamestop even tried making me feel bad that i missed out on their exclusive pre-order cars... They didnt even respect GT5 enough to have a midnight launch, so gamestop can keep their damn preorder cars.
