The story of Assassin’s Creed is as complex and sophisticated as you’re likely to find in gaming, or in any medium for that matter. The sci-fi, grand conspiratorial twist on history and key historical moments gives the series an endless canvas on which to paint its epic narrative. However, following the main storylines of the games (Altair, Ezio, etc.) is just one piece of the puzzle. To go deeper, to get closer to the core of what’s actually going on at the highest levels of the story, you have to find a series of hiddent elements that make up The Truth. As you'd expect, this isn't as easy as it sounds, which is why we've put together a handy little guide that will expedite your truth-seeking significantly in the franchise's latest iteration, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Slip on your favorite hoodie; it's truth hunting time.
Now, to unlock The Truth in Brotherhood, as in Assassin’s Creed II, you must first locate 10 glyphs scattered throughout the game world; in this case, Rome. Finding the glyphs themselves (remember, eagle vision is your friend) is one of the more enjoyable aspects of the whole discovery process, so rather than tell you exactly where you can find them, here's a list of the locations that house the glyphs:
- Acquedotto Claudia (Antico District)
- Aventino (Antico District)
- Il Colosseo (Antico District)
- Caserma di Alviano (Campagna District)
- Castra Praetoria (Campagna District)
- La Rosa in Fiore (Centro District)
- Palazzo Senatorio (Centro District)
- The Pantheon (Centro District)
- Santa Maria dei Miracoli (Centro District)
- Castel Sant’Angelo (Vaticano District)
Each glyph gives you access to a puzzle, or a cluster. Each cluster contains several puzzles that vary from finding hidden images in photos, to matching sound waves to unlock audio files, to dial-based picture puzzles. Some of these clusters can be quite head scratching, so we’ve put together these helpful videos that will show you the solutions to all 10 clusters. While I’d encourage you to try to figure you the puzzles on your own, it’s always good to have a handy reference guide to turn to if you really get stumped. So here you go:
Once you’ve solved the final cluster, you’ll gain access to The Truth, or at least, the portion of The Truth that is exposed in Brotherhood. In terms of what The Truth actually is this time around, I guarantee you won’t see it coming, and how you feel about the reveal will depend entirely on how you feel about the pace Ubisoft is taking with the franchise.
So there you have it. Get into that Animus, hit the streets of Rome, and get hunting. Because The Truth…is out there.
