Operation Flashpoint: Red River is currently planning an invasion of game stores everywhere in early 2011. We recently had the opportunity to check out the invasion plans.
"Your three squad mates – or your entire squad – are mapped to your D-pad, allowing for easy selection when issuing individual commands. These commands are broken up into four categories – Maneuver, Suppression, Follow and Tactics – with sub-menus for each containing orders such as rush, hold position, flank left, flank right, etc. And you’ll want to keep a firm handle on your commands because heavy fire and intense action can rattle your men, making them break ranks and act on their own. So issuing frequent orders will help keep your men focused on the task at hand. And Red River is not a forgiving game. Don’t expect to be able to take much damage and walk away."
Issue some orders and then check out our Operation Flashpoint: Red River Preview.

From all the talk sounds like a game for the bargain bin. If this company does not want to sink they had better have something really well built come out and hopefully this is it.

I liked Dragon Rising but after i found out they are using the same engine as DR i just told myself i will wait until its 15$ and they took out one of my favorite aspects of the game the online competition like c'mon i loved flanking other players and there squad while there attention was on my team mates or ambushing them was fun to..

After the mess that was Dragon Rising, I don't expect much at all, though I really hope CodeMasters proves me wrong. Until then, I'm an ARMA player to the end! OOH-RAH!

Codemasters should give this game free to anyone who bought Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. I tried so hard to like that game. Too bad support after launch was virtually nonexistant and many bugs were never fixed. :(

Unless Codemasters can turn it around, I'll stick with Arma II for my tactical military shooter fix. Speaking of Arma II, when is someone going to review Arma II? They also release some expansions as well. Too busy playing twitch shooters, I guess.
