I love movies but hate DVDs. I think everything should be streaming, the second I want it, in 1080p high-def. Netflix is the greatest, and has just rolled out a plan for me: A streaming-only option that costs $7.99 a month.
There's always a catch, though. Netflix is also slightly jacking up the price of their other DVD plans. The single DVD at a time plan is going up from $8.99 to $9.99, and the three DVDs at a time plan will cost you $19.99 as oppose to the $16.99 you have been paying.
So everyone loses but people who strictly stream... if only more films and TV shows were available as streaming options on Netflix. I bat about .500 when it comes to finding specific movies and shows streaming on Netflix. How about you guys? Are you Netflix people?

I watch a lot of streaming tv shows from Netflix, it's great to get to watch things like Eureka, Dr. Who, Heroes . . . . , However, I still like getting my discs I think the extra 2 dollars would be worth it to keep the DVD's that are new available, I also don't think that Netflix is losing subscribers due to lack of Streaming content. Yes a certain movie might not be listed, but there are still many others just like it for you to watch. So for those that are really cheap maybe this is a good idea, but for 2 dollars you can get anything you want on disc.

Good on them, but I'll keep the DVD plan, since that's the only way I can access some of the better parts of their library.

Streaming through XBL is wonderful, until you run into something you really want to watch that is DISC ONLY! I just finished watching Dexter Season 1 and 2 over XBL Streaming and went to search for Season 3 and it's still listed as Disc Only. It has been out for over 2 years, so it's frustrating that it's not available yet. They're constantly adding more content on a regular basis, but they definitely need to pick up the pace and expand their collection of streamable movies & tv shows. With XBox, PS3, and the Wii all having the capability to stream Netflix movies, I would think that Netflix would want to capitalize on retaining those users and make more content available to them.

Considering most new DVD releases are only available by mail, I don't see this being a very useful plan. I'd say less than half of the movies I want to watch are on instant play. Taxi Driver, Fight Club, Sin City, Blow, 300, Office Space, Big Fish, The Cable Guy. . . . seems like every movie I like is only avaiable on dvd actually.

I would pay 20 bucks a month for streaming only if netflix would get more movies and tv shows out there and keep them up. Also get new releases up for streaming quicker too. Id wager im not the only person who would pay more either.

this would work only if they had everything available instead of the stuff expiring or having to get the DVD version for certain things (i.e. the Highlander series finale is only available when you rent the season on DVD).

I really don't like netflix I'll just stick to redbox.

I would do that in a second, but most of the stuff I would want on netflix is not available for streaming. they really need to have everything available for streaming.

I do the streaming only option also and hate that so many epic movies/series are DVD only. I really hope they add more to the streaming archive.
