Call of Duty: Black Ops may have broken numerous records including launch day sales and first five-day sales but can it hold the title of most successful FPS? Raptr decided to compare CoD: Black Ops' performance with CoD: Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Reach, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor. Care to find out the results?
Raptr took it upon themselves to compare each of the five games in Average Total Play Time, Average Length, Review Score, and Unit Sales. You can either look at the picture or keep reading, I respect your time so I thought I'd give you the option.
Halo: Reach had the most hours logged on its launch day. Modern Warfare 2 had the most hours during its first week. Black Ops had people playing for longer periods of time on its launch day while Halo: Reach had the longest sessions during its first week. Modern Warfare 2 had the best reviews.
In the end they decided that while CoD: BO did break records, it hasn't out performed Halo: Reach or Modern Warfare 2.
So who is the winner? You are. How are you going to celebrate? By spending the entire weekend on your couch playing video games. Good for you.

Halo is only on 1 console so I thinks overall Halo won this one.

You can't beat Reach for balance. I've never played a bad game with Reach, unless I knew I just had an off night. The only problem is, after a while, there's nothing to keep playing for. Spend 50,000 for a little shoulder plate? The armor effects are decent, but ultimately aren't that big of a deal. Black Ops is still horribly unbalanced, but 10 times better than MW2. So Black Ops vs. Halo.......too bad we couldn't get some sort of combination of the two, because they both have some pretty awesome qualities. But Black Ops has more to unlock and more reason to keep coming back, so I'd probably lean a little more towards it.

Reach is better because it was made to be played for years on end, not repackaged and resold as a different game the next year.

I don't think it's fair to compare the sales of CoD, MOH or BFBC2 to Halo Reach due to the fact that Reach is only on one system. The fact that it can hold it's own against those other 3 games does however prove it's superiority. I may be a little bias but I can't help but root for Reach for the simple fact that it's NOTHING like the other games listed whereas CoD:BO, MOH and BFBC2 are pretty much the same concept, all different, but really they are all just cashing in on this modern warfare trend that was started by CoD4 and continued by MW2.

Reach wins bc its an xbox only title and still holds records and gives all of the others a run for their money in the other records. black ops only got what it did bc infin ward fans like myself gave it a chance seeing that we wont get an infin ward game anytime soon. black ops is a horrible game they really didnt bring what i expeced them to considering WaW i rather go back and play that over black ops.

Is G4 trying to get fanboys to argue?! Although all of these games are in the same genre, they're not the same at all! These facts don't show much of anything either. They just show how many people get sucked into advertising and "what's the next great thing". BFBC2 is the best game out of all of these. It didn't get as much advertising as any of these, and that plays a huge part in why it didn't do as well. COD MW2 and Black Ops are the most popular because of the fact that they get the most publicity. Both of the two get the most hackers and cheaters. Reach is also great but it also falls into getting a lot more advertising than BFBC2. Medal of Honor wasn't that great, the graphics were not great at all, and the multiplayer was meh. The reason I like BFBC2 so much is because of the TEAMWORK (ever heard of it COD fanboys?). It also requires a lot more stratagy than any other fps out there. I bet if a lot of people who play COD all of the time would play a few games of BFBC2, they would decide it was quite a bit better...or complain about the lack noob tubes, and calling everyone who gets into a vehicle a noob. Long story long, BFBC2 is way underrated while the last 2 COD games are way too overrated.

Think about it Reach is an xbox exclusive and is still in very close competition with multi-platforming giants! Halo Reach ftw!

Ill say this Black Ops is much better then MW2 but Reach is my personal favorite & Battlefield Bad Company 2 is right up there with Reach.....just my opinion lol

I can't speak for Halo: Reach since I don't own a 360, but Black Ops is hands down better than MW2. Treyarch took the time to balance and fix everything from WaW and MW2, while at the same time adding all kinds of new features for the fans. I am surprised people would even like MW2 better, ESPECIALLY considering how broken it was. Perhaps they miss their UMP45?
But whatever, play whatever you want to play.

lol black ops is garbage worst 60 bucks i ever spent. EVER!!! sold it after 4 days with it :D. Mw2 much superior game
