Call of Duty: Black Ops may have broken numerous records including launch day sales and first five-day sales but can it hold the title of most successful FPS? Raptr decided to compare CoD: Black Ops' performance with CoD: Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Reach, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor. Care to find out the results?
Raptr took it upon themselves to compare each of the five games in Average Total Play Time, Average Length, Review Score, and Unit Sales. You can either look at the picture or keep reading, I respect your time so I thought I'd give you the option.
Halo: Reach had the most hours logged on its launch day. Modern Warfare 2 had the most hours during its first week. Black Ops had people playing for longer periods of time on its launch day while Halo: Reach had the longest sessions during its first week. Modern Warfare 2 had the best reviews.
In the end they decided that while CoD: BO did break records, it hasn't out performed Halo: Reach or Modern Warfare 2.
So who is the winner? You are. How are you going to celebrate? By spending the entire weekend on your couch playing video games. Good for you.

I dont understand, MW2 was and is just as good as Black Ops, Black Ops is not as good online people need to be honest with themselves If MW3 is ever made it will beat the pants off of black ops, I was disapointed and have heard several more people finally admit it, Plus Zombies are cool but have no real place in a good shooter come on what a gimmick. Iam sticken with MW2, tradin Black Ops I really do not need two of the same games. Wake up people dont make yourself feel better just because you shelled out 60 big ones for a game thats not much different than MW2.

i hope reach pulls it out in the end but its gonna be close.i was on xbox live with BO on a saturday and almost 800,000 players were on.then i poped in reach and it said about 200,000 so i dont know.BO may beat reach in the end.

Black ops didn't deserve the number of sales that they did especially because they didn't even make the graphics engine themselves and basically just copied everything that the late infinity ward company did. Except Nazi Zombies.

Some people can be very reasonable with their responses, but some are just downright fanboys, not listening to some reason, if any. The point is make sure you can prove it, and just say _______ftw! or something like that. Prove it! I do like both games, t does come close, in my opinion I do favor Blops more than Reach, but still make sure you know what you are talking about.

Black Ops is a much better game than MW2 IMO. I am having more fun with it than I did with MW2. Though I don't think anything could beat Call of Duty 4's amazing multiplayer, it was the best time I've ever had with a multiplayer shooter.

BO doesn't come close to MW2. My friends list says it all. I went from having 10-20 people playing MW2 at any time all the way up until BO came out. The first week of BO was the same, but now I find myself hard-pressed to find 2 or 3 people playing it. The guns are complete garbage. Not a single accurate fully automatic assault rifle. The maps and distance scaling are complete garbage. People 50 feet away from me shouldn't show as half the normal size, and those across the maps shouldn't be the size of ants. The absolute worst part of the game has to be the servers. I can't even play with my friends from out of state now, and if by some miracle I do happen to get them in a game it either locks up my ps3 or starts booting them randomly during the game. Treyarch really screwed the pooch on this game. Infinity ward reigns supreme in fps.

BO sucks really f*%#en bad. I played it for about a week and the last time I seen the game was last night when my teething baby was chewing the s*#t out of it and all I did was yell at my baby for not biting down hard enough on it . treyarch f*@%ed it up so bad that it doesn't even deserve for me to put their name in caps!.

one reason blacks ops out sold reach was because black ops was on every system and reach is only on the xbox but i would like to see the sells on just the xbox for all these games

Reach ftw for me. I do give Treyarch a crap ton of credit for actually fixing a lot of problems that came about in MW2. I do miss Sleight of Hand Pro helping with sniping but if thats the price i pay for a much more balanced game then i'll take it. And i love the crossbow lol. and i got hella lucky that i can use my 3 favorite perks from MW2 (Scavenger, Sleight of Hand, Ninja) in my classes.

Wow you can tell how many people here love xbox and hate sony anyone who said something besides reach is the best they get thumbs down. Reach was a good game but part of the fun of leveling up is being able to have better guns and cooler equipment. Not, Look my shoulder pad looks cooler than yours HA. reach was fun but for me and my friends shelf live very short. I want to pregress to different weapons, not just a new color armor. And the fact that reach was sold on only one platform, people have an instinct to go to things that aren't available to everyone. Everyone on xbox bought it and said it's great so they can gloat that xbox is better. Then COD: BO came out and they say it's worse because anyone with a ps3 or xbox can get it. If COD was exclusive it would have sold better, because people would have that instinctual attraction.

as much as i wanted halo reach to be one of the best games ive ever played, i got craped on. halo reach was so dissapointing. so i traded it in for black ops. i feel i got my moneys worth. :) halo 3 poops on reach. but id play call of duty over the halo series anyday.

this is inaccurate. reach sold 3 million in its first month, black ops sold 6 million in its first day. do some more research G4. and i didnt get to play black ops, modern warfare 2 was a disappointment, and reach was trash. but overall, reach is the worst game on that list, and the best game of this list? forget this list. lets just go play cod4

Halo Reach is far superior to Call Of Duty Black Ops. Halo is a more enjoyable experience overall.
