We all know the Microsoft Kinect is geared at families and children, but do the kids actually like it? In the video below, Bella, an actual seven-year-old girl, plays Kinect with X-Play's Adam Sessler and answers this important question. She also absolutely pwns The Sess at Kinect games: Getting beaten by little kids at Kinect is something all hardcore gamers are probably going to have to get used to.

Haha I can imagine learning to do small things like 2nd grade math, but how would you teach something like calculus??? You would make Kinect explode before it could register. :D

I love the fact that Adam had a kid on but in the next video is Sarra Underwood in a girl school outfit, dare g4tv to get Sarra (horrible fake breasts) Underwood to do a segment with a 10yr old girl who can explain why Sarra dressed up in a girl school outfit is ok.

I've noticed that usually the people who say they're not biased, truly are. I've seen posts from people on here who say, "I'm not biased, but the Kinect just plain sucks. The Move is so much better. But I'm not biased". Then when you look up their old posts, you see all kinds of things about, "The Move is going to be so great. Don't buy the Kinect because it's going to suck". If people enjoy it, let people enjoy it. If you don't like it, don't buy one. G4 isn't biased for saying a product is good or better than another. It's an opinion. If G4 ever received money from Microsoft for a positive review, it would be the end of their organization, period. Would they do that? I highly doubt it. If roles were reversed and Sony made the Kinect and Microsoft made the Move, you know Sony fans would be ripping the Move apart, saying it's just a Wii upgrade, while they had something revolutionary.

As a core gamer, I have to say, the endless possibilities this thing has to not only provide my nieces with entertainment, but also to teach them is almost inspiring. This thing can actually put a kid into something. Back when I was a kid, a learning game was "flashcards" or putt putt goes to the moon on pc. Fine, learning games, sort of. (more so the former) but hardly interactive. Forget us core gamers microsoft, forget about me. Or at the most give me a side thought from time to time when it comes to the kinect. You can do so much good for younger kids with this thing. Get on it, our kids need the help. I would gladly buy a new xbox as well as a kinect for my kid (if I had one) if it could actually benefit them to play a video game. Imagine that. I don't need this thing to be catered to myself, I'd rather it be made useful. :P

it isnt even a "core" gamer issue with me, just tired of the slant, I want straight, honest journalism...If i want this kink of slanted view, I would be watching fox news...I enjoy social games too..and want something my nieces and nephews can enjoy...but if you look at this and all of X-plays Kinect love and don't see the obvious slant..
and showing videos that are for Kinects target demographic...when that target demographic doesnt watch x-play or get on their website IS exactly the definition of an infomercial..

Cute segment. Not sure why anyone would watch that and come away with "Paid for by Microsoft." It's a short, harmless segment that shows a major part of Kinect's target demographic getting some hands-on time with it and coming away wanting more. I can be pretty cynical, but even I have had enough of the "core" gamers pissing and moaning over motion controls. Just shut up already and let families, kids, and social gamers enjoy themselves...it's not like the game industry isn't continuously putting out a couple dozen solid core games a year or anything.

I am so blown away at how xplay has become another tentacle of the microsoft monster. I have given you the benefit of the doubt..knowing you preferred the xbox and your reviews always reflect that, but your kinect coverage has just disgusted me. I always had waited until xplay reviewed a game before buying it, but with the Move and Kinect reviews X-play has lost all credibility in my eyes...I am so glad I tried kinect before wasting my money on it..but to here all of you it is like the second coming of Jesus. I no longer will await your reviews, you have lost all credibility in my eyes for what i can only see as an extension of the microsoft advertising campaign.
I just dont understand how xplays reviews can be so much different than the rest of the world...Journalists are supposed to be objective...you guys might as well work for Microsoft for all you do for them...
