Cheats and Walkthroughs

Yesterday BioWare teased us with a mystery screen shot and binary codes. Today rumors are swirling that the unannounced game is actually a Mass Effect multiplayer spin-off, which I've named "Mass Effect of Duty."
Mass Effect 1 and
2 are sci-fi RPGs with no multiplayer elements. According to an unnamed "development source" BioWare Montreal is working on a spin-off game that will appeal more to the Call of Duty demographic. The source went on to tell
Kotaku that the game would follow the same formula as CoD
and Halo: A light story mode and heavy on multiplayer. The single-player lead would not be Commander Shepard.
BioWare Montreal announced several months ago that they were looking for multiplayer programmers. BioWare's co-founder, Greg Zeschuck, mentioned in a past interview that other games that take place in the Mass Effect universe but aren't a part of the current Mass Effect trilogy could be made. Does this mean we could be getting Mass Effect Online?
In yesterday's
post, many of you speculated in the comments that this game could be a FPS set in the
Mass Effect universe taking place during the Contact Wars. Some G4 readers said they didn't care what the game was as long as it wasn't a "Mass Effect
ODST." If the development source is right, that could be exactly what we're getting.
I guess we'll have to wait until December 11 to know for sure.

it would be a stupid move to make Mass Effect online...It will just ruin the game

If this is all true and its an ME wargame, possibly an FPS, set during contact war.
I hope there's more to it than just the contact war. The first contact war was very short, as i recall, and wouldnt make for a full game.
So why not have the setting varied and let us play asari commandos/Krogan Battle masters during the Krogan Rebellions? Or Rachni Wars as well? Maybe a little work as the Salarian STF?
I wouldnt mind it at all if the game focused on all of this lore-driven historical events, giving much more context to Humanitys first contact, the creation of the genophage, the Rachni threat. It'd consist of smaller plots, sure. But it'd add -alot- to the context of ME1 and 2.

Dumb name and I hope they don't make it like a Call Of Duty game. That would totally ruin the Mass Effect series to me. I love the game for it's uniqueness. And it would totally take that out if made anything like the Call Of Duty series. If this is even a Mass Effect online game.

If this is true, I would just like to thank Bioware for opting to make a whole new multiplayer game rather than tacking it on to my ME3

I don't see why some people seem to be getting upset about a Mass Effect: ODST. I personally love both RPG's and shooters, so if it's Mass Effect-related or not, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I'm not big on multiplayer, but if the campaign has a good story, and this is BioWare we're talking about here, then I'll be happy. Besides, I'm not 100 percent convinced that it is Mass Effect related yet.

I have not had the pleasure of playing Mass Effect, because I am a devoted PS player. I am excited about playing ME2 early next year.
A Mass Effect FPS could be awesome. HALO has never ensnared me in its allure, but Mass Effect definitely could do the job.

just like everyone else, i am a huge ME fan. But please do not screw this up Bioware. ME has make you guys money and will keep making money as you guys follow your right steps already done. A multiplayer might be fun but is not needed, thats what makes ME, ME is perfect the way it is.

i like the idea of more stuff going on in the mass effect universe , but i for 1 hope they keep it third person in the gears of war vein.
why not 5 on 5 or 6 on 6 third person look at the combat leap me2 took from me1 i love making and outfitting my own character and no matter how good it's done it's just not the same in 1st person.
i'm a bioware sucker 1 of my top 3 companies ,so no matter what they do i'm sure i'll try it! bioware, bethesda and epic!

I would doubt it would be a an MMO. And if it was, I'd be a little upset because it takes so long for MMO's to go from development to production. I mean look at Old Republic. I just wouldn't want to learn about a Mass Effect MMO now and have to wait 6 more years for it. Just tell me in 5.4 years.
As far as an FPS during the contact wars, that's a very small window of time to set a video game in. I mean the Contact wars lasted all of what? 28 days?
It'll be interesting. That I will say.

I personally think that its a Mass Effect RTS involving the Contact Wars. (They did the same thing with Halo in "Halo Tactics.", so why not Mass Effect?) ME is a huge world enough to fill that MMO quench but I think it's too early to really get into that until the third game in the trilogy is out.

Strange, I thought ODST was one of the best games ever made.
But the rest of this article fills me with horror. I'm so damn sick of multiplayer taking over everything.
I'm going back to playing Enslaved and am going to pretend I never heard about this.

If this is mass effect multiplayer, just put it in ME3. I would love to pit my Shepard against someone else's shepard, i dont care if it makes no sense story wise.

I'm down for a Mass Effect spin-off, this is a franchise that can be taken in so many different directions!

Anything made by Bioware is always amazing. So whatever they make well... It will be amazing! I am really hoping for Mass Effect 3 but if its not and its a different Mass Effect game I will still pre-order it.

If this game sucks, I'm not blaming Bioware, I'm blaming EA.
RPG-fan
What I like about Bioware is they focus mainly on single player. The length of their games are a kick on the nuts to those 5 hour games like Kane & Lynch 2 and Force Unleashed 2. It will be sad if they implement multplayer in expense of single player for future games. So so sad...
