Remember last week when Adam said he was having sequel fatigue? Yeah well, there's an exception to every rule, and in this week's Soapbox the Sess explains why Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is that exception. With a fully realized historical world, intelligent and adult themed story lines, and tens of hours of playtime, Brotherhood may be well worth the ticket price.

Could the Assassin's Creed thing for next year simply be dlc for this? Fans have been getting mad a lot lately about dlc being announced before the games releases so they might be holding back on that information until people have the game in their hands and have played it for a few hours. (if they have already announced dlc, ignore this, I haven't payed to much attention to the game)

PREACH!!! Brother Adam.

It's when you get a good game and a story that goes beyond the gameplay, that the controller seems fused to your hands. This is one of those games.
And I, like you, totally nerd out when literary and historical figures are paraded out in front of me on screen in an intelligent way. It's never perfect, as Jake's review attests, but it's still a refreshing series even when the previous iteration came out just one year ago.
I share your sentiments, Adam.

Is it just me, or does Adam look great photoshopped in the assassin's outfit?

My big question with Brotherhood has always been weither or not it actually progresses the real story, which is really about Desmond in the real world outside the animus.
I still feel AC2 covered all that was needed from the animus, he learned how to be an assassin in the real world to help take down the "templars", and that was pretty much the main goal of the game.
So why hook him back up to the animus to continue playing through Ezio's life?
It just comes acrossed as Ubisoft thinking they could start their own brotherhood of wallet assassins, called Assassin's Greed, but hopefully this game turns out to prove me wrong.
I still won't be buying it or maybe not right away, pretty keen on waiting for the game the advances the real world story, hoping that will be AC3.

I just hope they don't milk the series to quick witch is what its starting to sound like there going to.

i hope the next game doesnt come out for at least 2 years and then my other hope is it takes place in the same era as the comic book does

Also just the fact that they are talking about another one, already...makes me not want to play it. Why can't developers come up with a new IP.
The_Great_Old_Ones
I don't think that studios totally understand that the entire market isn't gluted with the cliche CoD fan or Madden fan. Although I won't be able to play it until Christmas, it looks like it will be worth every minute.
Spidey47
I'm gonna be honest. I wasn't really on the bandwagon for this game. I got AC2 last Christmas. I was probably about 75% through it. I had done several missions in Venice, then it happened. My stupid PS3 broke, so I lost it all. I'm mainly sad about losing my guy on Oblivion. But anyways, this may be the reason why I'm not into Brotherhood. I don't feel like another one was needed so soon. What are they trying to do, follow Call of Dutys footsteps? I had the multiplayer beta, which was pretty fun, I just don't know if I wanna buy this game. If so, I'd probably wait til it goes a little cheaper or if I find a used copy. Adam Sessler did sort of persuade me to want it though. I just don't know yet.
