Ubisoft has released an official trailer for its recently teased Assassin’s Creed Ascendance, an animated short that bridges the gap between Assassin’s Creed II and the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Ascendance, which stars ACII hero Ezio Auditore and provides some more back story on Cesare Borgia’s lust for ultimate control over Italy, was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and will be available for $1.99 on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and online on November 16, the same day AC: Brotherhood sneaks onto shelves.

The short looks to be a mix of standard animation and motion comic animation, which isn’t ideal, since I’d prefer to see a fully animated AC short, but I look forward to seeing it anyway.
