If you're not playing Call of Duty: Black Ops right now, then you're either taking a break, or you just happened to stumble across this post while surfing for some sort of bizarre Japanese pornography. In either case, we're glad you're here because it means you're about to dive headlong into the newest episode of Feedback, where we strive to bring intelligent conversation about video games directly to you each week. Or, barring that, at least there's conversation.

It should come as no surprise that this week brings us a debriefing on Black Ops, as we delve deep into the gameplay and talk about the single player, the multiplayer, the secrets, and the fact that Kinect + Black Ops = a spy's dream tool. Oh, and look out for spoilers. Yes, there be some spoilers ahead. If you love monkeys to the extreme, and have Dunston Checks In on your DVD shelf, then you might want to skip this episode. Otherwise, load up and head on in. We need you to check the south entrance for zombies.

Feedback -- Call of Duty: Black Ops Gameplay Debrief »

Here's your handy, non-redacted guide to what we talked about:

  • There's been a rash of Kinect issues! People damaging televisions! Injuries! Spying! Racism! Cats and dogs living together!
  • EA outright cancelled NBA Elite 11, rather than release a poor product. Applause? Jeers? Or have you been too busy playing NBA 2K11 to notice?
  • Close one door, open another: EA also announced Battlefield Play4Free, a web-based Battlefield title. Are you into it?
  • Even though we still don't have a date for Gran Turismo 5, Sony is already working on Gran Turismo 6, to be launched a hundred years from now. Or earlier, if it's ready.
  • Activision has had a huge boost to their bottom line this year with StarCraft 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and the still to come World of Warcraft: Catacylsm. Hopefully the company won't become self-aware like Skynet and kill us all.

Feedback: Where G4 Black Ops isn't just a figment of our imagination, it's a reality. At least, we've been brainwashed to think so.

Seriously? A successful and neck-snappingly awesome Infinite Jest reference and you can't get the name of the character referenced in, like, the first setence of Atlas Shrugged. I remember a Soapbox where Adam talked about how awesome it was to have read that ridiculous tome before playing Bioshock. I want justification for this lapse! Justification!

Really an awesome game but I feel that the multiplayer upgrade system is lacking the same addicting drive to consistently push to upgrade and earn more XP that MW2 certainly possessed. I think the COD monetary system is too scattered and I preferred the simple, streamlined system in MW2. This equates to a less engaging multiplayer experience than I had in the previous COD outing but what do I know? Love Feedback though, keep it up.

Once again COD has spawn problems, and that is the major problem with those who rack up the kill streak rewards, not the rewards themselves. Spawning into death has been the major crutch of COD, with the exception of MW2, where it actually address the spawning problem well.

I got a funn Kinect injury story, My dumb cousin who's 24, broke his ankle yet again playing a video game. He was playing Dance Central and did lame ass back flip an broke his ankle. Even though he was in so much pain he still wanted to dance some more. This is same dumbass that broke his ankel playing Tony Hawk Skate jumping off the couch.

Stop crying about killstreaks. Do you want lethal deathsreaks in the game like chopper gunner so people who are bad can catch up? Get better at COD and your problems will go away. Don't say the game is broken or unfair because you are not good at the game. Hide in a building ffs, it'll help against getting blown up.

Man these guys need to not cry about killstreaks... If you don't play barebones, what do you want them to do? Give lethal deathstreaks like choppergunner so bad players can catch up?? Become good at the game, and your problems will stop. I realize you have alot of games to review and play, so it might not be possible for you to log the 50 hours of gameplay or more most of the hardcore players do. Just don't say the game is unfair, broken or hard because you are not good at it.

ok i like cod, but when you guys say the game is all around good, its lacking. the match making is a fail. it takes me about 15 mins to get a game with a full pt of 6 ppl. the game it self is good. the sound and graphics lack a little compared to MW2. the game im truly waiting for is BRINK. i think this game is going to give cod a run for its money. i truly think brink is going to be the next step for FPS, but its very under played and the hype isnt nearly half as much as black ops. i wish you guys would take a good hard look at what brink has to offer. btw i love your show. Adam you are the man. lol, i am an older guy who likes video games and when it comes to gaming and smarts you are my hero! thanks, for sticking with G4 for all these years and making it work.

I also experienced a glitch that Kevin mentioned, where you're in the labs and there are these soliders standing upright but you can't kill them. Still happened even after I downloaded the 7mb update. Man, seeing those soliders is creepy.

I don't know if anyone left a comment regarding this already, but I know who John Galt is. John Galt is a fictional character referred to throughout the Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. He appears in the form of a question "Who is John Galt?". Represents the person responsible for the creation of the power of the human mind.
