In the two weeks following its release, the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit demo was downloaded 2 million times, making it the fastest downloaded NFS demo ever, Electronic Arts announced today.
The demo also generated over 700,000 Speed Wall posts, 5 million Autolog recommendations, 54 million miles raced, and 20 million cop busts.
In case you hadn’t heard, NFS: Hot Pursuit is pretty fantastic (At least, that’s what my review says), and the reviews have been across the board positive. Throw in the momentum generated by the demo, and we could be looking at one stellar launch for Criterion Games’ latest thrilling racer. Guess we’ll find out next week.
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

This is what Need For Speed is, and always will be good at. Crazy police chases, races, and finally being able to play as the cops. Criterion, you've saved the NFS series. Can't wait till' November 16th! :-D

i think 1st 1Mil people downloaded the Demo and then figured they couldnt play the other half of the demo so those million told their friends to download it so they could play the other half of the demo... good marketing because i had to ask 1 of my friends to downloaded also...
