Gran Turismo 5 Reveals New Cars, Courses, Modes, and More

The gold press has barely had time to cool for Gran Turismo 5, and Polyphony Digital leader Kazunori Yamauchi and his team already have their sights on the next installment in the long running driving franchise. And so the cycle begins anew.

Yamauchi told Autoweek (via The Sixth Axis) during this week’s 2010 SEMA trade-show in Las Vegas that while development on Gran Turismo 6 is in fact underway, “It’s not something that we can talk lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It’s just too early to be talking about GT6.”

The Gran Turismo cretor was prompted to speak, briefly, about GT6 by a question about whether his pick for the SEMA Gran Turismo award – a 1969 Chevy Camero – would appear in the next Gran Turismo since it was too late to be included in GT5.

As for the most recent, and final, delay, Yamauchi echoed previous statements about it, adding, “It was really to adjust it so it would be perfect.”

My hope is that Polyphony Digital just doesn’t talk about GT6 until it’s a month away from being released…which should be at least five or six years from now. It would just save a lot of fans a lot of anxiety and stress. Wouldn’t you agree?

No offense there Jake, but if you wish to NOT cause the fans anxiety and stress, why did you even bother to report this?

Well at least they can see the future ask them if Move or Kinect are going to last. Or if 3d is just a fad. Or if we have new consoles? I wish i could see the future.
But seriously GT6 they are looking way to far ahead. Release GT5 and give us some periodical DLC while working on 6 don't work on 5 and 6 at the same time.

They take too long because they're perfectionists. I've nothing against delaying a game if it means a better product. Still these guys need some time to rest already.

Why work on GT6? GT5 needs to come out AND it has been delayed several times...WORK ON ONE GAME THAT YOU KNOW WILL GET YOU MONEY THEN AFTERWORDS WORK ON ANOTHER
