First of all, thanks for waiting patiently. We know you like Feedback as early as we can get it to you, but this was one of those rare instances where our hands were tied by outside forces. Namely, the all-seeing, all-knowing, Hal-esque eye of Kinect. But now that it's midnight on the East Coast, LET FEEDBACK RING!
Also, we did some nifty stuff with this episode, like finally figuring out how the ginormous control board can route an outside call right into our ears (and yours), so we were able to have Adam call in from the steps of the Supreme Court in Washington D.C. after the violent video game hearings. Pretty cool stuff. We promise to only use this technology for (mostly) good.
Here's your handy, non-motion controlled guide to what we talked about:
- A woman in Florida kills her son while playing the ultra-violent game Farmville. Wait, what?!
- Minecraft p asses over 500,000 copies sold, and over 1.6 million users registered. Not bad for a game that's still in alpha! Thinking about diving in? Check out Steve "Crafty" Johnson's Minecraft tutorial before you do.
- PlayStation Phone photos surface. Do you want it? Do you care? Are too many games in your pocket right now? Wait, you do have a phone in there, right?
- Microsoft buys the motion sensing / 3D firm Canesta. Are they shutting down the competition? Or trying to make Kinect self-aware?
- Oh, and of course, a huge discussion about Kinect. What did we think about it? How are the launch titles? Listen and find out.
Feedback: Where when the controller ends up being us, we're definitely going to need a new set of batteries.

"I just quietly put Dance Central in and instantly a girl came over and she's like, "oh I wanna, I wanna dance""
^ This is hilarious...

maybe it's just me but it feels like a load of butt kissing for ms and if buying into this crap think of all the bad things you said to nintendo when the wii came out.
Tylerr
Jesus Christ did we really need 10 posts about this crap? Move got like 1 post and i don't even remember the wii getting that many.
I think someone is in love with ms.

i believe the video game with the most sequels is castlevania its at about 33 games(if you count the arcade).man how does dracula handle so many beatings.no wonder hes so pissed all the time.every time he resurrects he gets his ass handed to him(sometimes by his own kid).

Grow up people. No one on the show is a fanboy or taking bribes, theyre just fans of good tech and devices that live up to promises. Its their jobs for christ's sake. They're not super trolls. I wont lie. I only own a 360 (my wii was destroyed in a hurricane) but im no fanboy. I would buy a ps3 if I could afford it. But even at last years E3, kinect looked more interesting and original to me than the move. It just has more possibilities and as Dana said "feels like the future". If getting all butthurt on the internet and calling it the eyetoy makes you feel better then go ahead. Theres almost a direct correlation between Nintendo/Microsoft profits and Sony fanboy bitching anyway. Great show and pannel as usual. I was in the same boat as Kevin and Jake "just a fan of the tech" but after watching the show im kinda interested. Here's to hoping mom really does want to kinect chat so I wont have to buy one. Cheers G4!

ew, i asked that question about a dearth of original ip's 11 months ago for two weeks in a row, and it was ignored each time,
at least the person who asked it though added in independent game makers, my original question did not involve that,
and my guess for games with the most sequels, dragonball!
then DIE NASTY WARRIORS

I am so sick of all of this fanboy crap.. I own all three systems and a PC. And enjoy them all. (wow!!! amazing right?!) Im thrilled about kinect and move, they are both going to be great with games...ahh nevermind...EVERYONE just enjoy being a gamer and play all games! Every system has great games. And if you are a true gamer quit gripping about which console or pc is the best and if you can..BUY AND EXPERIENCE THEM ALL,sure some consoles have better features than others but they all are fun and each give you a great time.....just quit complaining. That is all

Favorite review right here -- no overly technical geeks whining about very minor things. Overall, the reviews are more positive - and the majority of titles released are actually getting good reviews which is usually rare for a launch (except for Joyride which seems to be getting crapped on across the boards). Not bad, not bad at all.

hey guy that is complaining about all the articles being about kinect and the others that say g4 are xbox fanboys. do me a favor and look back a few weeks when PS move came out thats all they talked about then. now its the kinects turn and next week it'll be something else. so go cry to your momma because g4 just happens to be good reporters and keep up with current news as good as they can.

I have an idea!
Can one of you X-Play employees try to get a remake or sequel of a game(s) called Hunter the Reckoning and/or Unreal Championship?
Thanks in advance =]

Every time G4 does a spot on any specific company's peripheral there are people crying about how G4 is biased to one company or another and honestly its BS. They aren't biased, they talk about what has the most buzz at the time, PS Move honestly did not have much buzz. I didn't even know it was out until someone mentioned it to me, and I have not seen it shown off in stores nor have I seen commercials, it was just there one day- no buzz or word of mouth at all, even with my sony freak buddies hanging around.
Kinect, whether its real word of mouth or just great marketing, has a lot of buzz surrounding it. G4 is of course going to spotlight the thing which has the most attention on it so that they can capitalize on that as a company. Why talk about something that nobody else cares about? As far as them saying there are tons of flaws with the Move, I think they were fair about noting the Kinect's flaws too, like how it reads another person and wont sync back to one person and thus is bad for areas like living rooms if you have a lot of people living in your house, or common areas if you're in college. That is a pretty big flaw if you ask me, and I am sure as time goes on and they use Kinect more (just like they have had more time to use the Move) they will find more and more flaws and tell us all about them.
Anyways, the thing that I'm really aiming to talk about is the supreme court case. I have watched all the provided material on this and I am finding it ridiculous. I am 20 and I get carded for M rated games at any major game retailer or supermarket that carries games. How are these games getting to kids? Because in my experience retailers honestly are not selling them to anyone who looks remotely young. If the law doesn't prevent parents from buying the games for their kids -which seems to be how the kids are getting them anyways- and if kids are already not allowed to buy the games, then what does this law change if it is enacted? I mean, I understand the bad implications it has, but if we just look at the "positive" bits, the part that they are trying to use to "sell" the law, what would it change?
Kids already can't buy them, and parents continue to shovel their kids full of god of war, halo, etc so it would change absolutely nothing. Game stores wont get in trouble because in most cases having a parent present, seeing the kid get the game and purchase it, is "consent". Besides the addition of a sticker that says "18" and the raising of the limit from 17 to 18 for M rated games, this doesn't seem like it would do any good to me. It can only cause harm, honestly. The only things that could come out of it are bad things, like over-regulation and overzealousness on the whole issue. it's a slippery slope, and one that there is literally no benefit to walking on.

i love my playstation move, and kinect seems alright (reverse engineering, anyone?......), but i still can't help but feel like this is that one episode of arrested development when carl weathers and tobias funke were at burger king. "its a wonderful resturant" "it sure is"

Great Feedback.

If your looking for new IPs here are two favorites coming in 2011.
BRINK if you do not know what this game is and you love FPS you should probably smack yourself in the face. And than google it because seriously this game will REVOLUTIONIZE shooters. Even if you aren't a huge First Person Shooter fan I do advise you to check this game out anyways because its just insane.
RAGE is basically just like Fallout & Borderlands. Yes its not the most original of new IPs but I have to say if you are a fan of either of those two games you will love it. And people who like Bioshock for its world Rage has one of the most beautiful world and visuals I have seen for a console game its just insane. And I think Rage is going to take what Fallout and Borderlands have been doing and raise the bar ten fold and than just leave them in the dust.
And there are a ton of other pretty decent new IPs I have seen but there hasn't been too much about them so I don't know how they will be. And next year theres still a bunch of sequels that look amazing and probably will surpass their prequels. So if I was you I wouldn't worry 2011 is going to be a great year of gaming. And if we all die in 2012 (highly unlikely) we will all least have had the time of lives with the games that are coming out.

Great show. I'm pleasantly surprised that Kinect turned out as well as it did. I still won't be purchasing it until a game motivates me to do so, but it's nice to know the tech works. I don't mind the current sequel trend in gaming; new IP's fail just as often as sequels. Also I'm not sure how you guys forgot Mario when discussing the franchise with the most games.

Damnit! Now i'm interested in kinect.
