First of all, thanks for waiting patiently. We know you like Feedback as early as we can get it to you, but this was one of those rare instances where our hands were tied by outside forces. Namely, the all-seeing, all-knowing, Hal-esque eye of Kinect. But now that it's midnight on the East Coast, LET FEEDBACK RING!
Also, we did some nifty stuff with this episode, like finally figuring out how the ginormous control board can route an outside call right into our ears (and yours), so we were able to have Adam call in from the steps of the Supreme Court in Washington D.C. after the violent video game hearings. Pretty cool stuff. We promise to only use this technology for (mostly) good.
Here's your handy, non-motion controlled guide to what we talked about:
- A woman in Florida kills her son while playing the ultra-violent game Farmville. Wait, what?!
- Minecraft p asses over 500,000 copies sold, and over 1.6 million users registered. Not bad for a game that's still in alpha! Thinking about diving in? Check out Steve "Crafty" Johnson's Minecraft tutorial before you do.
- PlayStation Phone photos surface. Do you want it? Do you care? Are too many games in your pocket right now? Wait, you do have a phone in there, right?
- Microsoft buys the motion sensing / 3D firm Canesta. Are they shutting down the competition? Or trying to make Kinect self-aware?
- Oh, and of course, a huge discussion about Kinect. What did we think about it? How are the launch titles? Listen and find out.

Those who don't think they are ripping on the Move... go watch the Move ep. They stated Move was easy to setup. And the tech worked as it was supposed to, but sometimes the game got in the way. NOW they are saying in this ep that it was hard to setup? Also, as a few others have pointed out, mostly all other reviews of the Kinect talked about many bugs and problems, but here they glazed over them. Oh, btw - the Kinect launch title is STILL a sports game.
One thing in the Move ep, I found interesting is that they ripped on Sony for "tropheys" and "who knows how to compare with your friends" type of junk. Really... I am not a hardcore gamer, but play enough on my PS3 to know how to see my friends "acheivments" compared to mine.
FYI - I do own all three consoles. Have many game titles for all three.
So, I think they really need to get back to Professional opinions not Personal ones for reviews that people come to look upon for professional advice.

Ok, from everything i have seen, comparing Wii to Kinect really isn't fair to either. Wii has a controller, Kinect does not. As for Biased for Microsoft...I've seen them rip apart microsoft games ect. just as much as anything else they review. Why a half hour for Kinect and not as much "hype" for move? Maybe because Sony did a bad job marketing and "hyping" their own product. So blame G4 for Microsofts better marketing...yeah that seems fair. I do agree though, for now Kinect is not marketed towards the "core" or "hardcore" gamer. It's marketed towards families. Yes the games appear "kiddie" but so what? Anyway, the tech looks great, yeah some issues with space but if you want to make it work enough, you'll find a way.

I'm surprised after Kevin (I think it was Kevin, I listened on the mp3 version) said Medal of Honor was disappointing, Abbie didn't response to this. She did gave it 4 out of 5 rating on her review.

psh killing over farmville that game i will never play........ killing over madden the other two just suck....the psp phone is not for u ole folks... kennect is whats up so u know it just came out and if someone have something like that for the ps3 omg they will flip lol....yea i wonder if when they start world wars are those the bugs bunny kids huh all they wanna do is take away all of our rights....give the number out lol....kennect is gud im not going to lie but i knew that from E3 even when u guys was acting like it wasn't gud i see past some of g4 bs lol have u ever tryed to let the ps eye stand on its own impossible lol you guys are selling me on kennect omg i almost called it move but it seems pretty gud well just use that background blur im sure they can do that cause i got a ole ms cam and it blurs the back grounds so hay i don't need to see that part of a person lol grrr women um did u for get from xbox 1 they had some arobic game so whatever lol

you know, you guys love this microsoft thing. everytime something microsoft comes up, you all claim it to be the best. when it's not. I'm sure kinect is awesome. but just because you had a few problems with the ps move doesn't mean you have to kill it. i have a ps move. and it's awesome and works perfectly. doing everything it said to be done. sony has always proven to be the best hardware. however i'm sure kinect is amazing as well. it looks amazing. but g4... cmon.. have a little respect for your gamers. just because you like something doesn't mean you have to kill the other. sure you had bad experiences with ps move. but i'm sure others will have bad experiences with kinect. when in actuality all systems are for our enjoyment. or do you just like kissing microsoft's butt? really!?

I am so happy they didn't talk about Kinect the majority of the show.are you guys more happy about the fact that the tech works well, outside of the fact that you would have to stand 6 to 8 feet away from the television. How many actual games not kiddy games will come out for the kinect that will actually be good and would make people want to play them versus games that come out that people buy and be good for a while then it would catch dust like the wii. i think nobody will be playing games with this thing the would use it more to navigate menus then pick up a controller to play, because i feel that gamers want to feel a controller in their hands not flailing their arms in the air like they are fighting off bees or cobwebs.

I have no interest in Kinect. Hmm motion control isn't that the reason why I have a wii. Plus the Kinect is half the price of my wii so why pay half the price of the wii plus a system to get motion control when I have it for my wii.

Off topic...
In theory Sony could make an adapter/converter for the multAV port on the ps3. Since you can get both audio and video through that port also, couldn't they make a multiAV to HDMI converter? That would allow them to port Google TV over to ps3. I say they could release the converter with Google TV software. Let me know what you guys think.

I own all three systems and think Kinect has a lot of potential. Yet from this review you guys say how awesome it is yet you bring up some huge issues. You mentioned the space issue, that people can't really be around you or else the game freaks out, that the games are shallow and weak willed. Even with those enormous draw backs you touted Kinnect as the second coming, and that everyone should go get one. I am confused. Is it a trouble ridden periphrial that needs time to work itself out, or is it the masterpiece that will be the cornerstone of my entertainment center? From this review it sounds like both. Abbie has made no qualms with her fanaticism of Microsoft, and I am saddened by the rest of the panels inability to not sugar coat it.
Kinnect will be cool, but right now it is pretty weak.

Im wary of even bringing up the bias thing because I know im gonna get shot down by people defending the site and of course the editors are going to deny it. But seriously guys, wether or not you meant it, you are coming acvross as biased in thsi episode. You need to make it balance and not let personal preference effect how you do stuff, because quite honestly you are right now. Im not saying G4TV should be like every other site, but when I see almost every major game site being skeptical on kinect and state its flaws in addition to things that should be praised, and then you guys act like its perfect and way better then Move, then I find that suspect. You need to seriosuly balance the love and the hate out on this show across platforms.
But like I said, youll probaly deny it and not even consider the possiblity that you were acting this way in this episode, so really whats the point? and 5 bucks says that theyll mock us bringing this up on next weeks episode.

If some people cant notice the bias then truly they are in a closet. I love the show and always tune in but everytime they mention something sony its negative. When ever a game for xbox or something by them is coming out its praise even with bugs and glitches or failure rates. I just dont get how people dont see that.
Also those claiming its because kinect is innovative and something where as move is a wii clone, news flash, KINECT is just EYETOY 1.5.

hahaha you guys are so funny, you are already trashing the psp-4000 after just one picture??? If you want an honest review of Kinect check engadget 6/10 and ign.com 7.5/10. You guys "forget" to mention:
1) the terrible set up on Kinect but you trashed the Move's one."We had a lot of problems setting up Move..." What???? it just 3 seconds!!!
2) the lag on the recognition of fast movements.
3) Problems with voice recognition with noisy background or with the 5.1 too close.
4) The lack of hardcore games, Move has Socom, Mag, Resident Evil and Sly Cooper Collection but of course you never talked about that.
5) The space requirement.
6) Long stand up sessions, Kinect forces you to be stand up 90% of the times I can play Mag or Time Crisis lying down in the sofa.
I think Kinect is fun and it will have a good sales but you guys should inform correctly, ignore all this negative details just because MS puts a lot of advertisements during X-Play breaks is just plain wrong.

I'm not necessarily a PS3 fanboy, but I only have a Ps3 and I dont have an Xbox cause I only like 2 exclusive franchises games (Alan Wake and Gears, was Mass Effect until its coming to PS3). But I have to say Kinect will destroy Move in terms of sales, only because Microsoft advertised the hell out of it. Move right now sucks, in fact PS3 sucks right now, they have no holiday games. Kinect is cool, but the games are completely boring and stupid, same with Move. Being able to voice command and swipe your hand to move through the menus is cool. Kinect Video games suck tho

Lol look at all the angry PS3 fanboys who are butthurt that the ps move sucks and kinect is awesome. Man the PS3 is such a terrible console. I got a PS3 a long time ago, it didn't work out of the box so I had to get a new one. Then I took that one back after about a month because it has crappy exclusives and the xbox 360 is just way better.

I would really love a feature on upcoming/future games for Kinect so that I know what to look forward to. I've been looking around on the net and all I can find is some star wars game that's coming out next year :/

All in all, i found the question of the week and the discussion that followed it more interesting than the complete whitewalling the Kinect got.

dana sounds like one of those fat chicks on morning infomercials about losing weight{ yeah i've tried other motion controllers and got burned so i was afraid to try kinect but its great it really works} yeah right. pull one out from behind the desk and sale it already so microsoft can pay u cause direct tv isn't going to anymore.lol....

Everyone bashing on them for liking Kinect must not have played with it at all. I wasn't impressed by it from the E3 coverage at all and decided to take a chance with it. To my surprise Kinect Adventures was a lot of fun. Maybe it was the same for them, and all of you are too dense to realize that opinions on a product can change once you get your hands on it.
