Kinect launches tonight at Midnight on the East Coast, and to celebrate, Microsoft is giving early adopters a $150 gift. The first 3,000 people to line up and purchase Kinect at the official launch party at Toys “R” Us Times Square will receive a free copy of Kinect Sports and Kinect Joy Ride, along with a one-year Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.
People are already lined up, New York gamers. Check out this picture tweeted by Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg:
That picture was taken last night, too, so you know there are many more people now. So get out there and get in line, people... if you want a Kinect.
But speaking of waiting in long lines, there's a chance that the Kinect will be this Christmas season's "must have" toy, with the lines, and outrageous eBay prices that brings with it. What do you guys think? Are we going to see a Kinect rush this holiday season?

I was there... not only did we get the 2 extra games and the year of xbl, we also got tshirts, beanies, ponchos, umbrellas, kinnectimals, redbull, 7$ gift cards to burgerking, and some other stuff. yahh id say it was worth it =D.

Not sure how many New Yorkers they'll sucker. I live here and all my buddies haven't even mentioned Kinect at all.

I like how people think that having a promotion is something no one else does. It's a great marketing move by Microsoft. What about Target having a buy 2 games get 1 free deal this week. Are they bribing people?

I think these guys are waisting their time, The line doesn't form until 6:00p.m. So when I arrive I will head straight to the front of everybody to get my place in line, and if they don't like it then they can kiss my shrinkta ring.

they know non of the core gamers will care about kinect so they have to bribe them to buy it. wish i had disposable income like that.

Kinect is going to be the must buy toy because of the "OMG mommy you don't need a controller!!" effect on kids. Ya in my book that is now a medical term.
