Epic Games’ stunning tech demo Epic Citadel definitely grabbed our attention when it was released a few months back, and while we knew the demo was also a teaser for a future game being developed by Shadow Complex creators ChAIR Entertainment, we weren’t sure exactly what that game was going to end up being. That wondering ending today as Epic Games official unveiled ChAIR’s new iPhone/iPad/iP game, Infinity Blade.
The medieval knights-themed title will feature “adrenaline-fueled sword battles” and epic boss battles set within a castle (presumably one similar, if not identical, to the one seen in Epic Citadel). Combat will favor casual and hardcore play, and the game will include single-player and multiplayer modes.
“More than one million people have been introduced to the world of Infinity Blade through our free app, Epic Citadel, and soon everyone will be able to play our first fully featured game for iOS devices,” said Epic president Dr. Michael Capps. “With Infinity Blade, ChAIR has created an amazing looking, incredibly fun game that really demonstrates the potential of triple-A mobile gaming.”
Infinity Blade is expected to be released this holiday, but the price isn't currently known. However, subsequent add-on content will be made available for free to anyone who buys the full game.
