If you've been following G4's coverage of the Supreme Court case you know how serious the upcoming decision is. If you haven't been following along, shame on you! Adam Sessler went on CNN today to talk about what tomorrow's decision means to gamers like you.

Adam Sessler joined the panel to bring his expertise on the subject. He made several good points including how juvenile crime rates have gone down in the past 15 years. He also addressed how the gaming industry is already doing a good job of self-policing. The ESRB makes sure games are rated E for Everyone to AO Adult Only. Rated M games are not sold to minors and parents have control over settings in the game. Adam's major concern is that the law would allow the government to decide what is appropriate for children, not parents.

One issue the Supreme Court needs to ask is whether or not video games are protected under the First Amendment. This is an issue that the Supreme Court has never dealt with. Another issue is: what are the free speech rights of someone who is under 18? The final issue is if California has proven that violent video games pose such a threat that they need to be censored. All important questions that will hopefully be answered tomorrow.
