Activision is making damn sure there is nothing subtle about the impending launch of Treyarch’s eagerly awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops, and just in case you had any doubts, the publisher announced today that legendary rockers Metallica will be taking the stage for the Black Ops launch party on November 4.
The event will be held at the Santa Monica Airport’s Hangar 8 in Los Angeles, California, and is expected to raise $1 million for the Call of Duty Endowment. Activision Blizzard founded the non-profit corporation to help veterans find work and make the transition from soldier to civilian.
"We are honored to have Metallica partner with us to pay tribute to the brave servicemen and women who have risked their lives at war only to return home to find their biggest challenge is searching for a job,” said Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.
