Like millions of gamers, I played the hell out of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2, but more because it was a clear refinement on an established formula than a substantially new experience the way COD4 was. That’s probably why I am, surprisingly, finding myself getting more and more excited about Treyarch’s upcoming decade-hopping Call of Duty: Black Ops. To be honest though, the newly released launch trailer pretty much sold me on the game. It might have something to do with the fact that John F. Kennedy appears in it (“might have” = “definitely has").
So what I want to know this morning is: Why are you/aren't you looking forward to Black Ops? What are hardcore COD fans most nervous/excited about? Of all the COD premises, Black Ops is easily, at least to me, the most compelling. Is it possible Treyarch will finally outshine Infinity Ward at its own game?

Im looking forward to it because Treyarch is listening to the community.....PLus CoD:MW2 is a broken game well in my opinion.

This game looks good and I really want it, but I am sooooo pissed they opted out of split screen campaign, I am not sure I will spend the money. I thought this was the developer that was dedicated to supporting us co-opers.

This game has looked sweet since announcement. I didn't get the upgraded editions though because they all had crap in them. I hope the multiplayer isn't as bad as it was in MW2. No more knives from 20+ feet away please.

I am so pumped for this game! I have been waiting for so long it seems like! It's not that far away! I have been sold on this game for so long! There is so many NEW things that I think patch up the CoD series a lot.

I am so pumped for all the different game types and the new currency/customization bit! Idk why but I just really want to make my crosshairs blue... But im afraid that Black Ops will play mre like WaW rather than COD4 and MW2. To me WaW had a bad feel to it and I was forced to continue to play COD4 until MW2 arrived. I hope this doesn't happen again. But none the less I am sleepless at night, rolling and turning in my bed just waiting for the release of the game of the year!
oh and ps: no more Commando and One Man Army!!! can't wait

i will not play black ops. nerfing commando and messing up the perks is not a good way to start. as a knifer i'm probably a minority player; but pandering to whiners is not a good way to keep things going. for all you knife haters... if i got close enough to stab you maybe you should reevaluate the way you play. my prediction is it will not outsell mw2.

I'm not looking forward to black ops because MW2 killed the CoD series for me. I played CoD 4 and loved it. But after seeing how people are more focused on getting a high K/D and other arbitrary stuff instead of having fun. The game in itself was extremely frustrating and I don't play a game to get frustrated..i play it to HAVE FUN. The community is borderli-..no, extremely repulsive. I have not met a reasonable person who plays Call of Duty..ever. All i end up getting are the little kids screaming expletives when they have no idea what they mean, the high schoolers who think Call of Duty is the only game worth playing and if you don't you're a homosexual, and the adults who are a combination of the two.
I'm not ragging on anyone who enjoys CoD. I'm just saying its not the game for me. I dislike the fact that you die extremely quickly and that instead of playing properly people just use exploits. It's the same issue in Halo too. The CoD community needed something to play until black ops so they mucked up a game that i truly loved. That same community will move to black ops and honestly, i'm not buying a game if there is even a remote chance that I will encounter those "fine" fellows.
So yes, I am in the minority that will not buy black ops. I won't be wowed over by fancy multiplayer that looks so "badass" and "amazing". And i guarantee the single player won't have some phenomenal social commentary that will make players ponder life. It will be people shooting guns while talking. That's it. But, i respect people who play CoD. However I don't respect the people who made the community the way it is now. Thats my opinion, please try to read it and respond with orderly comments.

Choose what gun you want to buy instead of slowly unlocking them
No Danger Close, One Man Army, Scavenger doesn't replenish Noob tubes and Claymores, Stopping Power (will add more variety instead of seeing EVERYONE use Stopping Power
Customization for gun/emblem/face paint/etc...

Once I saw the video of the wagers matches I was sold. Treyach is really stepping out of the shadow of infinity ward and I haven t been so hyped for a game since god of war 3 lol. The multiplayer looks sick from what I have seen and the single player looks equally awesome and honestly I don t care what score the game gets because I m going to buy it day one.

I'm looking forward to a new fresh game. I've played MW2 just too many times now. Also looking forward to the anti cheating Black ops will offer.
