It’s been a long time coming, but Valve has finally brought its original high intensity horror shooter Left 4 Dead to Macs. Sure, Mac gamers have been playing Left 4 Dead 2 for a while now, but the folks at Valve was determined to make both titles available before Halloween, and…well, they did. Congrats!
Left 4 Dead for Mac includes the full game plus all the previously released DLC, all for $9.99. Valve also reissued some updates for L4D such as stasis Tank spawning, Tanks don’t slow down while on fire, and no auto-spawning during Finales.
The release also comes just in time for Steam’s big Halloween sale, which includes savings of up to 75 percent on select thriller/horror titles. Some of the stand out deals are the Left 4 Dead bundle, which includes both games for $14.99, BioShock for $4.99, and the Overlord Complete Pack for $7.49. If you like scary games and scary savings, definitely check out the Steam store between now and November 1.

Be happy valve is loyal to PC and PC like machines and are intent on bringing their entire library to your hipster brand

Unfortunately, the problems on Mac OS X are that the drivers are not optimized for gaming. I tested both Left 4 Dead on my Macbook Pro on Mac OS X and Windows 7, and Left 4 Dead runs better on Windows 7.

more importantly TF2 is having it's second celebration of Halloween. I just killed the headless horseman with my flaregun, most epic thing ever on an online multiplayer game.
