If you've been waiting to purchase a PSP Go because the price is too steep, your day has come -- Sony has dropped the price of its handheld from $249 to $199. That's a $50 price drop for the system, and essentially puts it in the same price category as Nintendo's DS system. The PSP Go now costs just $30 more than Nintendo's DSi XL, $50 more than the DSi, and $70 more than the DSi Lite.
It makes sense that Sony is dropping the PSP Go price. It's right before the holiday season, and the company has no new handheld coming out in the next few months (although rumors abound about a "PSP 2" coming out next year), so they're trying to spur some sales on the system.
But I have to ask: Are you guys, the gamers, going to pick up a Go, now that the price is lower?
