Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Reveal Hands-On

As has become customary for major PC titles these days, Treyarch’s eagerly awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops will receive Steamworks support, including Steamworks Cloud functionality, compliments of Valve’s digital distribution service.

"Steam has been a great partner throughout development of Black Ops," Treyarch president Mark Lamia said in a statement. "We're working closely together to take full advantage of Steamworks to ensure we deliver the most polished and secure PC experience that our community deserves."

Those players who pre-order the game via Steam will gain access to Black Ops as soon as the game goes on sale on November 9.

And as Joystiq spotted, Treyarch has also revealed the minimum requirements for Black Ops, so before you plunk down the cash for a pre-order, be sure your rig meets these specifications:

  • OS: Windows Vista / XP / 7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better
  • Memory: 12 GB free hard drive space / 2GB RAM
  • Video Card: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT / ATI Radeon X1950Pro or better

Will your machine do the job?
