Blizzard CEO Mike Morheim announced during BlizzCon 2010's opening ceremonies that players will be able to pre-order World of Warcraft: Cataclysm from Blizzard.com in the coming days, and start playing the eagerly awaited expansion beginning at midnight pacific time on December 7 when the game hits store shelves.
Morheim also announced Blizzard will be releasing four custom games created by the StarCraft II development team using the game’s map editor for free over the next couple months. StarJeweled, The Aiur Chef, Left 2 Die, and Blizzard DoTA will be available via Battle.net, and those in attendance at BlizzCon will be able to check them out starting today.
We'll have plenty more from the show, including impressions of the newly announced Demon Hunter class from Diablo III, so stay tuned.

Per Blizzards ToS Selling a custom map IP would only be possible by blizzard, so any claim of ownership by the original creators and thus selling to valve would be null and void.

Competition is where Blizzard truly shines. Makes me wonder if LoL or DOTA 2 will stand a chance!

valve own the rights to the word DOTA 2 ...
no one owns the rights to the acronym of Dota
Valve got hold of the rights for DOTA 2 and DOTA 3 (and prob subsequent numbers).
Its interesting thou... Vavle and Blizzard have abit of a grudge match going on here its good to see.

Could have sworn that Valve got the rights for DoTA and are in the process of making DoTA 2?
Not complaining just questioning what will end up happening if Valve truly owns the IP?
