During yesterday’s Fox NFL broadcast, Blizzard finally gave us the first glimpse of the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm introduction with a cinematic teaser that aired during the Vikings vs. Cowboys game (curse you, Cowboys!). Here it is for your Cataclysmal-enjoyment, prepping you for the moment the real destruction begins on December 7.
The cinematic team really outdid themselves this time around, which is an achievement itself if you've seen their other video work. The trailer shows Deathwing, the volcanic Dragon of Doom, getting riled up and ultimately escaping from his fiery prison in Deepholm, telling players that the Azeroth they all know and love will break and burn beneath the shadow of his wings. His escape causes massive and permanent devastation to several well-loved areas of the game including the Barrens, Ashenvale, Booty Bay, and my personal favorite zone, Stormwind City.
Poor Deathwing, he just needs a hug I think.

Hmmm seems like Guild Wars 2 uses the same concept, but as far as I know they used it first!

weird trailor. the dragon started thrashing around and wrecking the very things applying his armor... then stops for a few seconds and gets what look like jewels applied to his armor? weird...
