Microsoft has announced the entire launch line-up for the Kinect motion-control device. There will be a total of 17 games available when Kinect hits stores on November 4. That's one less game than launched with the 360 itself.
I want you to read the list that is right under the cut, and give us your honest opinion in the comment section.
- Kinect Adventures (included with every Kinect sensor)
- Kinectimals
- Game Party: In Motion
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows--Part 1
- Your Shape: Fitness Evolved
- Dance Central
- The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout
- DanceMasters
- EA SPORTS Active (Includes Heart Rate Monitor)
- Zumba Fitness
- Kinect Sports
- Motion Sports
- DECA SPORTS FREEDOM
- Kinect Joy Ride
- Adrenalin Misfits
- Fighters Uncaged
- SONIC FREE RIDERS
So, who's getting Kinect-ed in the beginning of November?

Not me - definitely not at launch.
[IMO] Microsoft's making a big mistake, not having CHILD OF EDEN on that list as a flagship, launch title for Kinect. And I'd throw in STEEL BATTALION for good measure.
Thats the only way Kinect would make huge sales toward Microsoft's "hardcore" consumer base.
The only thing I see on this list that'll sell well for Kinect is Dance Central..and thats mostly only 'cause of all the "casual" gamers/club goers that are into the hype of the game.
Add in Child of Eden and/or Steel Battalion to that launch list, and Kinect will definitely get more sales.
Otherwise, I'll just wait 'til Child of Eden comes out (and hopefully it comes out with a bundle).

if the current line up is in any way indicative of what's to come, then i'm affraid to say that i will be passing on the kinect entirely. i need to see that some of my favorite developing companies are at least looking into making some of my favorite genres of game before i'm willing to throw down THAT kind of dough...
it's as simple as that. call me a tight wad, but what's the point in buying something that could only potentially lead to me getting what i want out of it... that's like... buying shares or something, except with this, you won't be getting money back, you'll just be opening up the possibility that you might want to spend more money... oh wait, it's just like purchasing stock... which i don't do and therefore will leave it up to the rest of the world to lead this product to victory or failure... it's more like like voting, except you pay to do so. and i'll be damned if i'm going to do THAT! so there. hahaha, i'm so drunk right now.

Harry potter Is supposed to be an awesome third person shooter. So I'll base it on how shooters will be for the kinect..
MasterOfWeed
They could totally make Fable 3 Kinect compatible and I'm sure it would help sell the device, This will be cool I'm sure but really now I think we have the motion control thing I think it's time we move on to virtual reality already it's taking way to long.

So here it comes it could either bring us closer to the future or make history as a failed attempt to make money.

I'm getting Kinectimals and Kinect Adventures that comes with. Am quite excited actually, should be great, and I eagerly await the Star Wars title!
best_video_gamer

Already getting Dance Central, Your Shape Fitness Evolved, and Kinect Sports. Going to wait for hands on reviews of Harry Potter and Fighters Uncaged before I consider those. After ward I'll likely be getting the Brain-Age game for Kinect and those other Japanese titles announced at TGS.
BTW, are there going to be demos available for Kinect titles?
Kinect will definitely sell big at first, just going by the pre-order numbers. Casual friendly titles will help bring in acceptance to a far wider audience than core titles would, and that's something we can't look past. The question now is whether Kinect's launch momentum will carry it over until next year and beyond. PS Move may have the controls for hardcore games, but it didn't gain that much traction from it's admittedly soft launch, which might just turn off developers into making games for that platform and put more of their focus on Kinect.
Whether or not we like it, this is Sony and Microsoft's way of restarting this console generation. So far it's looking the same again, strong start by Microsoft, slow start by Sony, and then the gap will get much closer a few years later. Nintendo on the other hand will continue to be laughing to the bank with their portables.

forget sports and fitness, all I want from kinect would be sword fighting games, gotta love my blades

17 games at launch, not one that I'm interested in. I hope that this crappy motion control craze goes away soon. I already own a Wii, so no thanks Microsoft, but if I were to get either Move or Kinect, I guess I'll be going with Move, but that is way of into the future after I see better titles come out for it.
Sukimaki
i would get a kinect but my mother will be on my ass every day trying to use one of those wor out games i think i will have to lie to her alot after i get it
RandyMercer
That's about on par with what the PSMove had right? minus a few launch titles
Darkwing6723
Kinect is starting off the same way the Playstation Move did, really cool hardware and lot of advertisement but no real games that qualify more than just tech demos. It really sad to considering this what the Wii had trouble with for the first year or so. It looks like now there are some more substantial games coming to the Move and the Move has been allowing other games to be updated with motion controls. I just hope Microsoft starts announcing some big titles soon otherwise they are not going to have much success with this cool hardware.

I work with an Jr High after school program, and Kinect is freakin perfect for that. The kids love dancing enough as it is, just toss Dance Central in there and they'll go all day.
Oh, and there's all the reasons I want it for myself, and the kid stuff will make it worth it until they start really coming out with some new ground breaking ideas.
Release purchases:
-Sonic Free Riders
-Dance Central (like I said, for the kids. I cannot dance to save my life)
-Kinect Sports or Motion Sports. Can't decide.

I'm on record of saying I hate the name 'kinect' and I wish we had kept 'Natal' because Kinect sounds too 'Casual Gamer Friendly' to me like the PS3's Move.
With that said, here is how this entire thing is going to play out.
Kinect will outsell Move early, it's inevitable, the Novelty of a controller free experience is going to give Kinect the edge. Let's face it, I've seen Move before (Wii).
Now although I do believe Kinect is more technologically advanced then Move, Move can have shooting games because you can squeeze a trigger. Kinect (as best of my knowledge) can not track an index finger squeezing and invisible trigger. Maybe you develop a special controller for optional use but then you've just basically got the Wii/Move again.
The reason i believe 'Kinect' is gonig to outsell Move is simply Novelty. Neither system has any other things going for it. (Other then more people having XBoxes then PS3s but this again is cancelled out by people not trusting Microsoft because of the number of XBox recalls)
Neither game has any launch titles that make you say, 'WOW! I really want to try that.' It's all sport games and fitness games... All have been done on the Wii.
There really is no reason to get these system add-ons right now.
But hey maybe in a year or two things will change. I mean the PS3 had no launch titles (except maybe that Resistance game or whatever, the alien one that looked horrible to me) and really nothing for a year but now it's made it up there and developers are able to use it effectively. (And I would really like to play Heavy Rain)
But I think has Kevin P from AotS said, give me something I haven't seen before.
Additionally what has made Wii popular amongst the women I've worked with is Fitness games like WiiFit. Kinect MAY have an edge here since it can view the whole body, but who knows. (I doubt many people are going to drop the money for a 360 and then drop it for a Kinect just to play fitness games)
And on a side note, I play video games to relax and get away from the physical labour I do all day. I don't want to come home and have to jump around sweating my ball ball off playing virtual dodge ball.
DreamingDarklyRobin
As you would expect lots and lots of shovelware. Hopefully Haunt and the Suda 51 game are good.
Blue_Vortex
I'm pretty sure that Dance Central will sell kinect or boost sales by a lot.
Tmidiman
Other than dance central and the kinectimals game for kids I don't see much here. Is MS about to do what Sony did and have a big to do about nothing? MS has a chance to know one out of the park, but they might do what Sony did and release a game control scheme with no killer app.
And already MS and Sony fanboys sound like Wii fanboys by saying,"Just wait till next year".
Next year never comes.
