Poor Gran Turismo fans. Poor, poor Gran Turismo fans. Just when you think Polyphony Digital’s excruciatingly long awaited Gran Turismo 5 is ready to go, it’s snatched back, like the kid of a nervous parent trying to get out of the car on their first day of school. What my poor analogy is trying to say is that GT5 has been delayed yet again.
Sony confirmed the unfortunate/unsurprising news this morning that the hyper realistic racer won’t make its November 2 release date, but is now expected to be released this holiday.
“We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay,” SCEA producer Taku Imasaki explained on the Official PlayStation Blog, “however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.”
At this point, GT5 has become something akin to the wedding night of two people who have decided to not even kiss until they're married. The crazy levels of anticipation (brought on by numerous delays and teases) are going to make it difficult to differentiate between the quality of the experience and the sheer joy of finally being able to get your hands on it...Hopefully, for the sanity and physical wellbeing of GT fans everywhere, we’ll find out if the game was worth the wait this holiday.
