Dead Rising 2 DLC Details

Hey, zombie hunters, have you finished with Dead Rising 2? Dressed Chuck in underwear and road a tricycle through the mall? Killed zombies in every way imaginable? Well, there's four DLC theme-packs on the way that will expand your living dead experience. Along with the appearance changes, the packs will add weapons, attacks and more. Details are right under the cut.

Psychopath Theme Pack: Available October 12, 2010
Psycho Chuck will be a zombie’s worst nightmare as his new “insane” look will make him more difficult to kill and give him a host of gruesome weapons including chainsaws, cleavers, axes and more.  Zombies won’t stand a chance!

Soldier of Fortune Theme Pack: Available October 19, 2010
With the soldier costume, you can “Rambo out” with double ammo, increased shooting accuracy, more firepower and headshot accuracy increased.  Chuck will also have a new special attack when using automatic weapons, spraying zombies with a hail of bullets.

Sports Theme Pack: Available October 26, 2010
For all you sports fans out there, this pack’s for you.  Chuck’s damage will increase with sports-themed weapons.  The new sports weapons (golf balls, basketballs, etc.) bounce more before stopping, allowing you to hit more zombies.  Chuck also has a new charge/tackle attack for taking zombies down in the ultimate blitz!

With the Sports Theme Pack, Chuck will also earn more from gambling, gain more health while eating and drinking (especially alcoholic drinks) and not get sick from drinking too much…

Ninja Theme Pack: Available November 2, 2010
Ninja Chuck will have a new “stealth mode” where the zombies have to be much closer to him to detect his presence.  This gives Chuck the upper hand as he is harder to grab and be taken down by hoards of the undead.

Chuck’s damage is increased with sword-type weapons (broadswords, katanas, etc.) that have new special attacks. Stackable items and throwing items (nails, plates, gems, etc.) will also do more damage and Chuck’s throwing speed is increased.

The cost of each theme pack will be 60 MP's/$1.99. So download them when they're available, people.

    The packs are not free.

The current free downloads allow you to play co-op with someone that has the packs already.

Each of the packs were preorder or version specific available from day one, thus the free patches were available from day one as well.

    Ninja - Gamestop preorder
    Sports - Best Buy preorder
    Psycho - High Roller edition
Soldier of Fortune - no idea.

If you downloaded the free patches and actually got content in them, most likely that's an error that will get patched out.

I downloaded the four free items and have yet to actually see anything from them in game.

acehardy is correct, all 4 of the packs are listed for free. Either G4 is mistaken about the cost (or lack of cost i guess) or this is a screw up on Microsoft's part.

this is great. This allows the people who can't pre order five copies or even at all, to get content they want and deserve for buying the game.

DLC that dont add content other than more gameplay are the stupids f*ing idea in games today. Most people who own the game have beaten it or will beat it by than. Just release case west in a timely manner, than go away and make dead rising 3 without the time limit and other stupid elements the consumers dont like. This game is like a diamond stuffed in a turd, "you want the diamond and youll suffer through the shat."

this is stupid, whats the point od getting the high stakes edition if your gonna release the psycho pack to everyone. It would be like buying the legendary edition and then a week later bungie decides to make the flaming helmet DLC you can buy.

Even though I got the Ninja pack from the pre-order, I kinda wish I had gotten the Sports pack or Psychopath pack as options. Oh well, just means I'm spending 180 ms points for the 3 that weren't available.

Sure costumes are great but are there going to be any DLC that adds more to the story or anything like that?
